Gray couldn't put down his iPod because he was slaying dragons or something and that sounded pretty serious, so.
I left my heart at the ocean and my laptop in Indiana. But, now all is well. It's official. Jeff has been named the Publisher of The World newspaper in Coos Bay, Oregon.
Seriously. I am proud of him beyond words, and happy. So happy that it's numbed my brain from thinking about moving again, and thousands of miles away at that, and how I really felt at first.
We were out there last weekend by the beautiful Pacific and trees, so many trees, to home-shop and fall in love with the area. Now we're just getting all our houses in order... we close on the Indiana one this month, yay! and might just have our eye on a little lodge in the woods in Oregon where all you can see is trees, and more trees, and the water.

It's January 2013 and we are far from the lice incident of last winter, and of thinking we'd never move anywhere, ever. This has been such a wonderful surprise.
I take photos of my kids on the fourth of every month. Four for four. (Here's January 2011 and 2012.)
You can see all past monthly photos here.

Really (really) excited for you. And trees!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for your family! Congrats to your husband! The location is my husband's dream job location.....his hopes in a few years! Good luck with everything! Hugs and prayers headed your way!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is from Coos Bay! He loved it there. The Pacific Northwest is beautiful and I hope you fall in love with it. Congratulations on the new job and move. I've heard good things about Coos Bay.
ReplyDeleteI am so coming to visit you, lol! What a gorgeous area! We'll be kinda sorta not really out that way this summer. San Juan Islands. A bit more north (close to Victoria).
ReplyDeleteYou will certainly be missed, but I am so happy for you and Jeff. Congrats!
Honey I am SO HAPPY for you. Talk about finding your view. Oregon may be farther away from me, but somehow I find it more likely we can finagle a coastal roadtrip to come visit!
ReplyDeleteMany congrats to Jeff. Big happy news. xo
Oh I love the rolling adventure... fun times ahead for all of you... Hope you all slay many many dragons on your journey!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it there. My aunt has lived there for 20 years. Congrats to your husband.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!! And a little lodge in the woods sounds amazing!! There is some beautiful scenery around here :)
ReplyDeleteUmmm...6 hour drive from you!!!!! Welcome to the PNW!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to have you on my side of the country!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your husband on the new job. It's inspiring how supportive you all are of each other and your dreams.
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to start this 4 on the 4th thing you do. I was looking for pictures of all my kids to give as gifts to the grandparents and had to go back *months* to find any that all my kids were in. And then I thought of you, and your great idea, and how faithful you are to it. And I am determined to emulate your example.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new move. I hope it goes smoothly.
Wow! That's BIG! And your kids are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually from Roseburg, Oregon (a couple of hours inland), and Coos Bay is a familiar place. It's our default destination when we would go to the cost. I'm stuck in land-locked Colorado now, but how I miss my precious Oregon! You MUST go camping at Bastendorf Beach. :-)
Congratulations on the new job! Oregon seems like an amazingly beautiful place to live.
ReplyDeleteYour husband is Judd Apatow's twin.
ReplyDeleteI'm overjoyed for you! And I'm visiting.
My heart is bursting with excitement for you! Hooray for new adventures!
ReplyDeleteCAN'T WAIT to see pictures of your new place on the Oregon coast.

ReplyDeleteThat picture is just darling! Love your happy heart, it makes all the changes - happy!
ReplyDeleteGray's smile kills me!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it! We made a similar journey that lasted two years. I found strength I never knew I had and left a piece behind when we eventually moved back East! The Oregon Coast is a magical place. Pack your rain boots!
ReplyDeleteOh, my! Steph, what an incredible turn of events. Wishing you and your beautiful family all the best.
ReplyDeleteBri
Look at that little LaRue. Seriously. Love that kid.
ReplyDeleteWow! Moving again already!? Congrats to your hubs for the great news.
ReplyDeleteHey! Do you use Twitter? I'd like to follow you if that would be ok. I'm

Oregon? Well alright! Tons of lovely outdoorsiness there. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the move, and on the job! My grandparents lived in Coos Bay for many many years, until just recently when my grandfather passed and my grandmother decided to come up here to Washington to live. Coos Bay is beautiful and amazing! I spent many summers traveling up and down the Oregon coast, and now we do that with my boys too. You and your family will love it. :)

ReplyDeleteI hope you have the most wonderful time in Oregon. My friend from college came from Oregon and she had nothing but great things to say about her home state! We all made fun of her because it seemed to us that there was NOTHING bad to ever happen in Oregon! : )
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up!
ReplyDeleteOMG. I remember reading about the move to Canton {and if I recall correctly, you were moving to the same city as Elizabeth was it??} and now you're off to Oregon! How exciting. And scary. And exciting.
Blessings to all of you.
