And Again

Packing up

Well, the first boxes have been packed. I started with the books that aren't going to be read in the next couple months and now the shelf is almost empty. It will be a good reminder while we wait, for we don't know how long, but I will look and think of Oregon and it will feel closer.

Again I find myself in the same chair searching the web for our next house two thousand six hundred and thirty five miles away, hoping a new one is added each hour I refresh my search, again. I remember doing this just a few months ago not knowing, but things found their place and in a way I hadn't thought or controlled, so I think about that a lot.

Every day I'll do a little filling and removing, sorting and preparing, so that when the time comes we are ready to go.

just write

  1. You and Oregon will get along SO WELL.

I spent many magical summers as a child in Olympia.

  2. I can only imagine the mix of disheartening (didn't we just do this?) and excitement (OREGON!). I'm so happy for you, Steph, even though I don't even the repacking and removing. (We've done it a lot. I'm over it.)

Oregon is breathtaking, isn't it? I went for a two-week trip in high school, to work at a camp in the mountains. I've never gotten over it.

  4. I'm done moving, but I've been there. We did a short stint in the military and moved five times in five years. I bet you'll like Oregon, but the unknown is always challenging.

  6. That's an awesome picture. And I'm glad you're remembering how things found their place in Ohio. I tend to forget about things like that and focus on the what ifs instead.

  15. That box looks familiar...I remember writing with crayon when packing from Valpo. I'm sure the right house will pop up and you and Jeff will know.

  19. No move is ever easy, 5 times 10 years for us. I learned that every move is hard but has a place in your life. No matter how awful and stressful it gets, God always makes it work out in the end. I bet you will LOVE it there.

  20. Oregon is going to be amazing and so worth it! Especially after living in Indiana. When my husband moved from Indiana to Oregon for me, it was amazing and he is never going to leave this area!
