If today had been the end of the world, I should say that I wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way. The snow fell and fell softly around us. Neighbors brought cookies, friends brought gifts, the UPS man brought packages.
Goodbyes were said, to make room for new Hellos.
And while this world year is coming to a close, a whole new life awaits, wide open: in a very unexpected and serendipitous turn of events, we are preparing to move again, this time to the Oregon coast. Talk about a view.

Whoa! Wild! Oregon will be a good fit for your family, I think. Exciting!

Oh my goodness. I haven't even mentally unpacked the boxes in your house for you, and you're moving? Wouldn't it be nice if they were also actually still packed? But the good news is that maybe, just maybe, there will be a way to have an IRL meet-up now that you'll be on the same coast, just a couple states and a border away. That would be fun. I could pay you for knitting lessons. =)
ReplyDeleteHappy moving, and happy finding roots and community and so much joy. The west coast is beautiful, and as much as I miss my midwestern roots and the friends and family who still live there, once the west coast ocean and mountains get into your blood stream it's no going back. Today I saw dozens of eagles - bald eagles and golden eagles. They are all enjoying the salmon who came into fresh waters to spawn and end their lifecycle. It happens every year at this time, and it's a glorious sight. And the tundra and trumpeter swans are here too. I hope you love it in your new home and that you guys get to feast on all the beauty that awaits.
Yay!!!! You were made for Oregon. I'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeletePS. Any chance it's Portland or near Portland? I know someone who lives there now that I'm pretty sure is your long lost BFF.
DeleteThe Oregon coast has been my home for many years. From a Native (who is now in portland), Welcome, we're glad to have you.
ReplyDeleteOH! Oh, how exciting! Welcome to Oregon! Soon, I mean. Soon, soon, I hope. This is a wild and wonderful place to live, which I suppose applies to Oregon and to life itself.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos! And Oregon! Wow! So very exciting!
