stories

I save things like the newspaper after the election, and from the day the kids were born, and 9/11. Someday it will be something to look at maybe.

Stacks of folded towels are my bookends, at my sides, until I carry them up.

I wonder if I should write more things down, with my actual handwriting. They will have all my words, but will it mean the same. I don't know. Would they like to pull a book off the shelf and touch and see, she was here.

  1. I'm terrible at writing things down but when it comes to saving scraps of paper and blogging my heart out? I can do that and I keep hoping that's enough.

  4. I crawled into bed last night and for some odd reason I wrote - by hand. The muscles in my wrist felt twisted and pulled. My handwriting unfamiliar to me. And I thought, 'why why why did I let this get away from me?' It felt wonderful.

  5. Meagan Francis and I were talking about you and how you do this. How you say SO MUCH in so few words and it is SUCH a gift!!! I love this post so much.

  7. We kept a journal for a while together, the kids and I, and then we got busy and bed time pushed back and it faded away. You make me nervous to leave it forgotten.

  8. It's crazy to me that people just don't write as much. I've always loved getting handwritten letters and cards from you, more than anything. But we have let technology get the better of us it seems. I do write a LOT at work, I'm always taking notes, and writing down to-do lists. But I guess some people lose that if they don't have to practice it in everyday life!

  9. That's a great idea! Do you have a special keepsake box or boxes you put the items in?
