One of my favorite things about recently moving is that I have a reason to shop for furniture to fill the empty spaces here. And where we live, everywhere you look there is a Goodwill, thrift store, resale shop, upcycling, antiques, shabby chic boutiques... it's awesome.
We stopped in Goodwill yesterday to look for winter coats for the boys and Ivy actually spotted this little desk for $5 and rocker for $8!

Something Ivy said to me yesterday that I want to remember for-ever: "It makes me so so happy when you read me stories."

ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of all of your thrift shops. My brother in law and his family live in Ohio and, from what they've said, the prices are way better than here in California. Ivy has a great eye- I LOVE that desk and rocking chair and her sweet dress!

ReplyDeleteI so wish I had read chapter books to all of my kids. We did the picture books at bedtime, but once they learned to read on their own, I kind of let the reading aloud to them go. Not with Jayce, though. He's in first grade this year and reading like a little champ, but still we are plugging along through chapter books. I LOVE that time with him and I really think it's a big part of his advanced reading skills.
