I thought it would be a good time to check in with the kids and ask them what they want to do when they grow up.
Noah: "I don't know." (Kicks dirt, gets kinda grumpy about it.) (He's 11.)
Carter: "A professional baseball player."
Gray: "PALEONTOLOGIST." And at the amount of dinosaur books we read, he can be one really soon.
Ivy: "Do dishes. Or be a dancer I guess. And artist."
There you have it. How do you celebrate the 4th of July? It's so hot here that we are missing the parade today, but we will be having an awesome cookout and fireworks tonight!
Happy fourth!
Happy fourth!
I used to take photos of my kids on the first of every month, now it's on the fourth. Four for four. (Here's July 2010 and July 2011.) You can see all past monthly photos here.

I love the pictures of your kids!
ReplyDeleteRight now we have no plans. One child wants ribs so I will probably go and get them since I am not allowed to make Italian Sausage with peppers and onions on the 4th of July. 'This is an American Holiday Mom'
That picture is so adorable! And the teeny flower. :)
ReplyDeleteI love their jobs! We're also going to have a cookout and some sparklers. Happy a very blessed rest of The Fourth!
PS: whose idea was it to have Carter, Noah, and Gray hold Ivy? Cute shot. :D
I had the vision for the pose- thankfully they are game for anything!

They pull it off so wonderfully!
DeleteCute pix! Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet picture. I love all of their answers to your question.
ReplyDeleteWe are having a little family BBQ and our own fireworks show. I am happy for a low-key day! :)
Fun pic!
ReplyDeleteAnd... hehehe... we're spending the 4th encouraging daddy to pass that kidney stone already; he adores having a super supportive family and doesn't find us at all annoying while we lay on the floor outside the bathroom door and check in on his progress. ;) And we're doing other fun things like cleaning up tiny bits of hurling messes from the youngest who confused "fireworks" with "body explosions." It's actually quiet and relaxing and very family-focused today... is that weird?
if ivy wants to start perfecting her 'doing dishes' job, she is more than welcome to come to my house. just sayin.
ReplyDeleteYour kids are just adorable! My son loves dinosaurs, too, and he's only 3. I wonder what it is about those animals?
ReplyDeleteThat photo is perfect! Hope you enjoyed the 4th.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo. My 8 year old son also wants to be a paleontologist. Or a priest. And my 6 yo wants to be professional baseball player too. Happy 4th! We spent our day at home just relaxing and watching silly SyFy movies before going to see fireworks.
ReplyDeleteWe went to my inlaws and went swimming. The only way to deal with this heat!
ReplyDeleteThis is so priceless. Except that I refuse to believe that Noah can be grumpy about ANYTHING.
ReplyDeletecool - I love when my kiddos share their dreams
ReplyDeleteIvy's answer made me smile, especially the doing dishes part. Ha! :)
ReplyDeleteAre your kids in dance/art/sports? I'd like to hear more of your "philosophy" on that topic.
