While searching Ravelry for patterns that would accommodate my new celery-green Manos Del Uruguay yarn (bought for a different project that didn't end up working out), I found Amanda Keeys' Squishy Love Cowl. I pinned it on Pinterest "to make" and then actually made it in just about a day.
I added vintage flower buttons from one of my many button jars. It's delightfully Victorian and so very Ivy.

Oh, that's darling. I think I'm going to have to make one for my girls.
ReplyDeleteSteph! It's so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI want one!
ReplyDeleteThat is so gorgeous (and, so is beautiful Ivy, of course)! I am so impressed by your talent, Steph! I'm even more impressed that you actually made something you pinned. I've pinned a lot, but I don't think I've actually made one thing yet. Whoops!
ReplyDeletePinning NOW.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The buttons and color are perfect on her. And good for you for following through on a project so quickly. I love that feeling!

ReplyDeleteOoh purdy. I bet Gretchen would dig one of these! *hops over to Ravelry*
ReplyDeleteShe looks so cozy! Love!
ReplyDeleteStunning. I must know - is there a special technique you use to keep your children from using your knitting needles as swords? Because we have trouble with empty paper towel rolls and chopsticks at my house... I'm not courageous enough to bring knitting needles across my threshold. But this cape? Makes me ache to change my mind.
ReplyDeleteOne stunningingly beautiful kiddo there!!! Incredible!!!
ReplyDeleteThat first picture makes me want to just weep. She is so incredibly stunning. The cape is beautiful, too!

ReplyDeleteOh my ......that is gorgeous and looks perfect on Ivy!
ReplyDeletel o v e it!
Ok, I have to ask: how long have you been knitting? Because I just started a couple of days ago, and that ADORABLE little cape looks about as easy as building a car out of cardboard and potatoes. Please tell me it gets easier, and I will soon have more to show for my efforts than some little squares!
ReplyDeleteI've been knitting about 7 years now or so and it DOES get so much easier! I did take a few classes at the local yarn shop that really helped me get a good grasp on reading patterns. And then just go for it! You will surprise yourself. :)
ReplyDeleteSteph
