Tell me something good

 noah bball

It's happened. My boys are officially into sports. Like, wanting to play sports. No organized teams yet or anything. Yet. I'm already tearing up at the thought of watching them, proud. Ok so yeah I'm already tearing up watching them play on the driveway.

Anyway. They are off this morning to throw around the ball and shoot some hoops with Dad while I take Ivy on our ritual Saturday morning to market and errands run. Later I'm going to a Love for Anika party - we're making pillowcase dresses to send to Kids Alive to be distributed to girls in their care or surrounding villages and we're also raising money for a little girl named Anika, to help her adopting family bring her home from Russia. You can help here (and maybe even win something delightful to keep), if you'd like.

That's good.

And also, some other good things: I was hired for a few exciting writing gigs (details to come about them all), and was mentioned at ohdeedoh in an interview with Erin from Growing Up Senge. How lovely is that.

Now go on, tell me something good going on with you?

I'm gonna be 40 on Monday, God-willing. Halfway to 80!

  2. This is a very back-handed sort of good thing, but since my husband is out of town FOR 8 DAYS, LORD HELP ME, I have been especially productive! Cleaned the bathroom last night! That is a good (and rare) thing around here! Too bad the hubby isn't around to enjoy this rarity :)

  3. I ran 2.5 miles in 25 minutes without stopping! I'm really proud of myself for keeping up with running.

  4. My 10 yr old is on a soccer team and my 8 yr old is on a baseball team for the first time. I love watching them play and I do tear up too. They are growing SO fast. I love them so much. But I will tell you organized teams makes you very busy running all over the place.

  5. I have to tell you, Stephanie, when you write about your boys playing basketball together and the like, it makes my heart swell at the thought of what's to come here. :)
Something good -- our Help4Joplin Auction raised almost $1800. It was a highlight of this past week! And E slept through the night twice. :)

  6. something good... I saw you slide through ohdeedoh!!! My daughters bed made it the other day - whooot whoot!!! (http://www.ohdeedoh.com/ohdeedoh/inspiration/small-space-reading-nook-reader-project-147583) And my kids are going to be crafting on breakfast tv the whole week next week... they came and shot it in our kitchen. Madness, mad fun!!! But for all that it has been rainy and freezing all week... the rain has stopped and I really should take my grumpy self out in the cold... and spend the afternoon weeding, I know the outdoors are just what I need to get out... really I should!!!! Ok I am going... stepping out the door... just having a coffee first!!!

  9. I canned 12 quarts of pickled asparagus yesterday, and today I'm making rhubarb-red currant preserves. And it's (still) rainy, and the baby is napping and the big kids are watching the Pink Panther on Netflix, and our daddy will be home from work soon.

  10. I am still walking on clouds from the amazing, awesome, incredible photo shoot last night.

And we had a fun birthday party today that ended in a water gun fight. Always good.

  14. The weather has been so perfect, especially in the morning. We sit out on our patio and drink coffee and eat breakfast in no big hurry. And the sun is peeking and the birds are singing and it's just so GOOD.
