I thought they'd been a bit too quiet...
So, the big girl bed thing is sticking for the most part. She goes to bed with her brothers now; Jeff reads them Hardy Boys every night and usually mid-chapter she is zonked. The first night she slept in her bed the whole time. That was a fluke. Most nights she needs some redirection back in there around 11pm. If it's the middle of the night, she ends up snuggled with me or on Jeff. Last night I went to check on the kids before I went to sleep and she was spooning with Carter in his bed. I didn't dare move her. She stayed there all night.

Doing so well for such a big change! This sounds like it's working out well.
ReplyDeletewhat are you going to do with that big ole bed all to your self now. {grin}
ReplyDeleteso stinkin' precious! glad it's going pretty well.
ReplyDeletelove that she was spooning with Carter. Love.
ReplyDeleteI love that it's Hardy Boys they're reading! Classic. Also he has such a cute haircut.
ReplyDeleteSo precious ... my littles like to sleep together also and I love it, because as much as I love our family bed when they cuddle up together it gives me a little space!
ReplyDeleteisn't it fun?? a surprise every day!
ReplyDeleteI want to try this so bad with Ruby but she just turned 2 in March and nurses a time (or 2) during the night. Some days I think that I am all done with it and want my body back (and bed) and then other times like yesterday she comes out in the morning and snuggles with me on the couch nursing and caressing my face and I just melt and want to hold on to this baby stage as long as I can.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteToo adorable!!
ReplyDeleteIt takes time. Libby has been in her big girl bed for a year now (seriously???) and she STILL ends up in our bed most nights.
ReplyDeleteLast night at about 11, I heard something and looked at my door - she was laying face down on the floor outside my door. She just couldn't make it all the way to my bed I guess ;)
Shoot - my now four-year-old used to be GREAT about sleeping in his own bed and now he comes to ours most early mornings after never co-sleeping as a baby/toddler. Just depends on the kid.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute lying together. Maybe she just needs 'someone' to sleep with (no offense to you Momma!) :)
So adorable. It almost makes me wish I had another person for Avi to sleep with...other than me, of course.
ReplyDeleteI find sleeping "in your own bed" to be overrated. Our kids end up sometimes in their own beds, or snuggling with each other, or with us, or in a pile on the floor. Sometimes (rarely) the husband and I feel a need for closeness and we sleep on the floor of their room. Just so we don't sound like total lunatics, the carpet is very cushy and their room is like a cocoon it's so quiet. I get the best night's sleep on their floor! hmmmm, maybe it should become a habit?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Ivy!
Just one word...Precious.
ReplyDeletecan't believe i never ran into your blog before!! glad i have now, helllo!
ReplyDeleteprecious.
ReplyDeletespooning with carter? oh, my heart!!
ReplyDeleteit is all i can do to keep my 4-year old in her bed all night after not co-sleeping as a baby. [she HATED sleeping in our bed as a baby and toddler] ... go figure.
My kiddos had that firetruck bed at their dad's house. They loved it! I love how it's sides are tall, so it keeps them in when they're really little and rolling around in their sleep.
ReplyDeleteBet your kids love that bed. What fun. Lets hope it means that they go to bed earlier...lol!
ReplyDeleteLifecell
Oh gosh, I need more babies... I've been having THAT URGE lately.
ReplyDeleteSigh...
