Lasterday was pretty awesome. Beautiful outside, we had a great breakfast together but had a late start so we didn't make it to church (we did visit a new place last week and plan to go back again.) I busied myself with lots of vacuuming and laundry and grocery shopping. Though you can't see evidence of it all today.
Then hubs grilled lunch/dinner (linner?) and I later took off for Chicago; two nights in a row its bright toothy grin greeted me. I attended my first Poetry Slam at the Green Mill. I can't imagine it will be my last. So awesome.
Today I have so much to do that I don't even know where to start so here I am, sitting at my computer. Of course. I keep pep-talking myself, if I can just get to May 8. Most things taking up all my energy right now will be over by May 8: Listen To Your Mother stuff, New Orleans trip, Easter, Listen To Your Mother rehearsal,VEGAS TRIP, Listen To Your Mother SHOW.
Oh yeah, and also in between all that? My writing gigs and life with four kids.
One thing at a time.
Right now? I think I'm going to just join Gray & Ivy under their dining room table tent for a while.
Stuff will get done. It always does.
I made a tent for my kids on Friday. It's kinda nice to shut out the world. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were going to Vegas! You are going to have so much fun, and I can't wait to hear all about it (you better tell me all about it).
ReplyDeleteAnd I want to go to the next Poetry Slam for sure.
you are busy! but a very good busy at that! will you sneek some cookies to ivy and gray under there for me?
ReplyDeletealso, vegas? whoa. i have never been!
One of my biggest stresses is working so hard to clean my house up and then having nothing to show of my hard work by the next day! But your right it always gets done somehow.
ReplyDeleteAbra, I have never been either and also? Just before I sat down to write this post I passed a plate of fig cookies to them!! :)

My son (who is very close in age to your precious little girl) says lasterday. I did notice the other day that he said yesterday. But, to him, lasterday could have been 3 months ago or yesterday! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI find myself saying that a lot: "It'll work out, it always does. I'll figure it out, I always do."
ReplyDeleteI love it when kids make up their own words! I wish I would've written them all down. My kids are 11, 9 and 4 so the 4 year old is still coming up with some hilarious ones! I really enjoy your blog. I just started blogging and love it! It's a addicting to read everyone elses!
ReplyDeleteI love Vegas but have not been since I had kids! And um yeah, my March and early April was the busiest I have ever been in MY entire life. Things are slowly starting to settle but not really. And you are right, things do seem to get done, at least the important stuff, lol.
ReplyDeleteYep, it will get done. Hope you had some good "tent time." :)
ReplyDeleteSee you soon! :D
My Jackson says, Lastday for yesterday or any other day that's past. I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt always does. :-)
ReplyDeleteI know your comment are close for you last post, but I just want to give you a hug, and say that I love you
ReplyDeleteStuff will get done... it always does... love that, and so true. Lasterday is so cute. I love when my little one says words the 'wrong' way. I never correct him. I melt every time I hear words said wrong come out of his mouth! Like 'finanally', for finally, or 'mikin' for minute. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love "lasterday." She is so smart!!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way with cleaning. I only have 1 child, but he makes enough of a mess for 5 kids!
I love those little mispronunciations that make their way into the family lexicon.
ReplyDeleteAlso? I think I need a dining room table tent to hide under. Perhaps I should encourage my kids to build one.
