renaissance

Well, well, well.

Crazy as it seems, five years ago today I started this blog. Who knew. Seriously.

Truth be told, it was all on a whim- the blog, the title, what I thought I had to say. Over time, we found each other- and link after link, word after word ... it's been one heckuva long ride.

And here we are.

I have a feeling I will always be writing, whether it's here 

or in my head 

or on the back of opened envelopes.

My cape and mask (and sometimes moustache), this blog allows me to be who I dream to be, to meet myself, to pretend, to expose, to confide, to discover, and to break free from expectations and "the norm" and the... mundane.

And yet, as much as I try to break free from it, I find so much hidden beauty there, in all its flaws, the every day life.

This is my escape in which I find out that I actually love from whence I have fled, even if gone just for a moment. And so I write, and am ready to return.

  6. Lovey love LOVE the new look. Here I was thinking I was all happy and content with the look I've been sporting for a while, but now you're making me want to get a re-do, too! ;)

    Always writing . . . don't I know it. (And have stacks of church bulletins and scrap envelopes and receipts and all manner of paper with notes/ideas/thoughts scrawled across them to prove it.)

    I'm so glad you do what you do. I've learned so much from you through the years, and visiting you here is always, always a treat!

  17. Oh love it! AND I wanted to let you know I found a semi easy looking baby blanket pattern I'm going to try out-it is a mitered blanket...I knit triangles and then sew them together?? I think...Anyways, I'll be starting this weekend so I am a bit excited :)

  43. i LooooooVe your new blog header. and the little moustache is there... too good.

    we recently discovered the little moustaches that you can add to photos on picnik after one-person-too-many called out sweet son luca a girl. my hubby suggested we get a sharpie and draw him a 'stache every time we left the house. the picnik app has been a lot of fun!
