Ivy snuggled up in the most toasty & delicious Chunky Knit Throw
sent to us by Lands' End.
Hello, perfect last-minute Christmas present!
So, it's been a good week. We're keeping warm and cozy inside apart from the occasional trip to the yarn shop (I've been knitting like a madwoman) (photos to come eventually!) It's the kids' last day until winter break and I am so excited to have them home.
I made a little mistake when trying to migrate my bloglines over to Google reader and so I really do appreciate if you link up here so I can be sure I don't miss anything really important. What have you written lately that I shouldn't miss? Who are you reading? Please link up below.
And be thinking about your favorite post of all year- I think a link up for that is to come soon. (Not necessarily the post with the most comments, but your favorite... do you have one from 2010? I'll host a link-up around New Year's eve for that.) (Oh and PS December 30th is my FIVE YEAR BLOGGING ANNIVERSARY yes you read that right. Whew.) (Do I get to register for gifts for that some where?)
What I've written elsewhere this week:
- A gift worth giving, a life worth living
- 2 months and counting of NO TV
- Simple holiday celebrations with big families
- Last minute gifts for people that love food
- Simple activity: paper snowflakes
What about you? I promise to stop by for a look-see. Link up here:
That blanket looks sooo comfy!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI linked to my most recent post, only because I think it kind of says what is on my mind more often than is reasonable. And because there are pictures of cookies, and who doesn't like cookies?
ReplyDeleteI want the blanket! I'm jealous of Ivy. ;)
5 years! that made me go look how long I have been CE...
ReplyDeletesince 7-10-2006.
wow, that went fast!
I love that she's always cashed out on the couch. Only 1 of my 3 kids was ever a couch napper. It's really so darn cute.
ReplyDeletecomfy blanket! one of my fave gifts I've ever gotten was a blanket.
That blanket looks SO cozy - I think we need one of those around here!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness- I want a blanky like that! She's too sweet!
ReplyDeleteI want that blanket in a sweater. :) I have been looking for that perfect, cozy chunky knit sweater.
ReplyDeleteI love that blanket. I have been blogging since 2004 this fall it is crazy how fast it flys by.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your upcoming blogiversary! My twins were born 5 years ago on December 30th, so we were both starting on a a new and exciting journey that day. Of course, yours may have involved more sleep. :)
ReplyDeleteThat blanket looks soo soft!
ReplyDeleteThat blanket does look soft and cozy! Although, its suppose to be 60 here in GA today...but back to the 40s tomorrow! Such as life in the South! :( Sorry you lost some stuff while changing over! That is a bummer!!!
ReplyDeleteHope y'all have a Merry Christmas!!!
I linked up and you should know that not only is my post about what is on my heart lately but it may be my favorite post from the year also. It captures everything my world is right now!
ReplyDeleteI could use that warm blanket right now as I read through my favorite blogs!
I love that throw! Makes me want to knit. Or, you know, pay someone else to knit for me because I'd waste money on yarn and leave it sitting in my closet for three years and then sell it for $2 at a garage sale. Anyway it's gorgeous. And as much as I'd love to link to something I've written that can't be missed, I've only "written" a bunch of highly missable stuff lately. I'm all action and no introspection of late.
ReplyDeleteI promise to let you know as soon as I figure out what the heck I'm going to do with my blog.
ReplyDeleteOk, I wasn't going to leave a link because I know you've been by, but I saw your tweet and thought I'd direct you over to my friend Jill's new blog 'for stylish moms and their kids' where I wrote a guest post. You would probably really like Jill's main blog, too. Since you asked what we're reading, I'll send you there too. :)
ReplyDeleteFive years? Holy cow :) That blanket looks amazing...
ReplyDeleteWishing you guys a wonderful Christmas break!
Five years of blogging -- that's certainly dedication! Happy upcoming blogging anniversary.
ReplyDeleteMeh... don't know if I should link up, not that great lately. I've been doing the December Photo Project, which has been REALLY fun.
ReplyDeleteThat throw does look beautiful and warm! Also glad to hear that I wasn't the last Bloglines holdout....I finally gave in too and am loving Google Reader - just had to get used to it after years and years of bloglines.
ReplyDeleteI've so enjoyed your blog the past 5 years- you're such a great writer.
ReplyDeletehappy week-before-christmas, friend!
Awwww she's adorable. And that blanket is really worth a try!
ReplyDeleteOooh, my favorite post of the year... wow, I'll have to think on that one.
ReplyDeleteAnd 5 years - WOW! I just passed 4 year at the end of November and kinda forgot about it. How sad is that?
And I'm gonna link to a cute video of my kids because well, it's cute. :) As is Miss Ivy...
Congrats on the upcoming blogiversary! It is amazing how the time goes so fast...
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a favorite post this year...or any year, really. I just post and kind of let it go. It's weird.
ReplyDeleteThat blanket (and the bonnet in the post newer than this one) are both beautiful! They make me feel all warm just looking at them.
She looks so lovely and cozy! Hope you get to the bottom of your knitting list by Christmas. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy in-advance anniversary!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea, Steph. I'm enjoying doing some "browsing around" this morning with my coffee. I'm also madly trying to finish knitting projects. I found the most gorgeous pattern for fingerless mitts but they have a lace pattern on them so they don't look so bulky.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I must have been a very hard blogger to read this year - I covered everything from my tinies and their antics to same-sex marriage to my thoughts on organized religion and then stuff about my marriage and my new pregnancy (tiny #3!) to politics and current events and then I'm back to Wikileaks again but wait! First let's talk about simple living too!
I was all over the place. Thanks for stopping by, even though I'm clearly a crazy person sometimes who thinks (and writes) way too much.
Have a lovely Sunday!
Sarah
I, for one, would love to see your gift registry list. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. That blanket looks so comfy-cozy.
