They listen wide-eyed and good-like and hunch their backs, crouch their bodies like they are sneaking up on someone
and tip toe the rest of the way in.
We made our snowflakes yesterday. School was canceled from the snowstorm, and today they even have a 2-hour delay. It feels like time doesn't exist, in our winterwonderland, no where to go, no one to be. We are going past two months without TV. It's easier to breathe in here, and we pass the time with
each other.

oh the memories that your kiddos will have :O)
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your kids ;) They're going to have some fond memories :)
ReplyDeleteI love this so much. My kids only get to watch a couple shows on PBS in the morning and that is it. I love how they play together without the distraction of the TV.
ReplyDeletesnowflakes are so much fun to do :-)
ReplyDeletesuper cute how gray & ivy walked into the library!
ReplyDeleteso fun to make snowflakes.
i keeping thinking of getting rid of tv...my husband is not on board with that, though...
so wonderful and adorable- those kids of yours. I hope we get to spend time together when we get back.

ReplyDeleteSounds Perfect.
ReplyDeleteits a wonderful day and a wonderful choice you made. I can't wait for baby to be born so we can get a kind of routine back and so stop TV again
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty snowflakes! Our kids have a VHS/DVD player but we have no cable and limit the video watching. They play more now nad it's nice!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this!
ReplyDeleteHow much snow do you have? I read about Lafayette, IN having lots of snow as well as South Bend. We have none and it is going to be close to 60 today. Oh well it could easily be the other way around, especially in March (our snowiest month.)
ReplyDeleteMy kids aren't quite old enough for making snowflakes yet. We ended up with a bunch of confetti and lots of tears! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely thoughts, though.
need to hear more on the no tv. we have considered it so many times but i have never done it and my husband doesn't really want to. we only let ds (4.5) watch about an hour of tv while dd is asleep in the middle of the day as is...maybe i should just accept that that works for us right now.
ReplyDeleteI love making snowflakes, so easy and fun.
ReplyDeleteDo you they watch any VHS or DVD videos? We don't have cable either, but I'm having a hard time getting rid of the videos. Suggestions?
ReplyDeleteIf you have any left over snowflakes, I'll take some for my windows. What great memories!
ReplyDeleteWow. Two months with no TV at all? We tried no cable for about six months and I caved last month. Been thinking we should try it again...but my hubs could never live without his movies *lol*
ReplyDeleteSnowflakes!!! We need to make some too...We'll have to do that for art tomorrow. :-D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Your words and your snow flakes.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking the plunge and we will be going without television here starting the new year. We will have Pandora playing during the day, but no t.v. I may need your advice on how best to introduce this and keep with it, at first!
ReplyDeleteLove your snowflakes, and the pics are beautiful!
We make snowflakes also, or Wycinanki (paper cuttings). My older one started off with tissue paper and just ripping little bits where I would show her to at the age of 1 1/2. At 5, she looooves hearts so cuts them out constantly. Great idea. The tv causes nothing but wasted time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that being without TV is working for you. I found it far more freeing than I expected it to be, myself.
ReplyDeleteI love those days with nowhere to go and no one to be.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, lovely
