Why the others were spared? I do not know. But we have blisters. Blisters! I tell you.
And truth be told,
The biggest hit was the wash your feet thingy, by our cars, in the parking lot, like a mile from the beach.
And while we were at the wash your feet thingy, a butterfly hitched a ride on Asher's hat- do you see it?
And she stayed on a long time, until she realized what she was getting into, with all the splashing and such.
Isn't that just like life?
I love it.

Tomorrow (Friday) I'm heading to Indianapolis for the Blog Indiana conference. I'm speaking about Mom Blogging on Saturday morning 10:15 EST and I do believe you can catch my session live somewhere- try here.
I have a favor, could you let me know in the comments if there's a question you might have about Mom Blogging? If you would rather keep it between us, please feel free to email me at stephanie.precourt [@] gmail.com.
I'll be staying at Chez Moosh In Indy and Emily of DesignHER Momma is so generously watching Ivy for me during my session!!
I'm so thankful.

Have a wonderful time! I wish I lived closer, I'd be there in a heartbeat. And you have just about the coolest friends around. Obviously...You are the coolest person around :)
ReplyDeleteOuch! I've had burned feets from sand & pavement alike, one too many times actually, so I feel your pain. Hope the blisters go away soon!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the kiddos had a wonderful time regardless though; great pictures!
Ouch! Burned feetsies, never good!
ReplyDeleteI do have a question, one that I am struggling with. Although my blog is more of a cooking blog, I think the same question would apply. How do you find the time? I have a 4,2, and 4 month old. As I type this I am holding my last while my middle one points at the computer and tries to push every button.
And now the baby is crying...gotta run!
I didn't know Sarah was "Very pregnant"! I need to catch up with her, it seems.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures. Looks like the best day possible. Even with the burnt tootsies!
I'll think about the blogging question and email ya privately.
Nell
Your pictures told such a wonderful story. The look on Asher's face was so indicitive of the moment. :) Sounds like you had such a fun day.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. Was hoping to get to the conference this weekend, but my husband's away on business. My question would be what advice you might give to someone just starting out (my blog is about 2 months old). Most of the resources I have found are full of techie jargon that this rookie mom blogger doesn't even come close to understanding. I'll definitely try to catch your session online.
ReplyDeleteThose pics are too darling!
ReplyDeleteSunburned feet hurt SO badly!
Please share giant hugs with Casey and Emily from me to y'all
xoxo <3
They are just too cute!!
ReplyDeleteyour making me wish it was summer here in australia.
ReplyDeleteMiss it so much, not the burning your feet on the sand part (or the road!)
Thanks all & keep 'em coming! I totally plan to post answers to these questions as well as the ones I'm asked at the conference!
ReplyDeleteSteph
I wish I'd known about it before (I'm in Indiana). I should pay attention to these things.
ReplyDeleteMy question would be ... suggestions for building blog readership. I have kindof a "niche" blog - I write mostly about cloth diapers and our day-to-day lives. I'm also a single mother by choice, so I have a bit of a following in that group. I have joined a couple of groups, but I'm having a hard time building up numbers on readers and followers.
good luck for the speaking thing :-)
ReplyDeletethat first pic of ivy, she looks just like noah.....so cute. i love baby laughs.
ReplyDeleteWe did that not too long ago and had blisters. I never thought the sand could get so hot.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun was had though, made the walking worth it. ;)
Can't wait to see you (and Ivy)!
ReplyDeleteQuestion: At what point in your "blogging" career did you feel that you met that tipping point? The point where you realized that others were reading, not just your mom and closest friends. What was the main contributor to getting to that point?
Does this make sense?
Okay, question. A few mo. ago you did a post on blogging. It mentioned something about followers and such. I was lost...Very new to blogging and I have my followers turned off. Should I turn it on if I indeed want more to stop by?? (Also, It would be so fun to meet up and run while you are in indy!!)
ReplyDeleteI like Emily's question.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the butterfly on the hat! Such great camouflage, the butterfly blends right in :-)
ReplyDeleteHope your feet feel better asap!
i love ivy's belly laugh in that first picture :-)
ReplyDeletehave fun at the conference!
Love Asher's Hat and the feet wash thingy IS so fun! :) Do great at the conference. I know you will.
ReplyDeleteso stinkin cute! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I feel for your burned and blistered feet. I hope you and Ivy soaked them a good long time in cold, cold Lake Michigan. I think the ocean is warmer than Lake Michigan. When I was a little girl I burned and blistered my feet on the exhaust pipe of Papa's tractor. Oh did that hurt!!
ReplyDeletehope you had tons of fun at the conference, at Casey's and with Emily! Can't wait to read an update from the conference!
ReplyDeleteYes. That is just like life.
ReplyDeleteAnd PS. Ivy {who has always been exceptionally cute} is getting more so by the day.
suddenly, i wish i lived in the midwest :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures, and great story...
I loved this :)
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the blog party, but...here are my questions for you:
ReplyDelete1. How do you monetize your blog?
2. How did you get your blogging position with the newspaper (and does it pay well)?
3. Do you have a FB page for Adventures in Babywearing? Why or why not?
I bet you rocked your talk at the conference. :)
