But who will point out the good parking spaces?

Gray & Abby

Hubs has always told the boys that when they grow up, they have to have a job first, before they can get married. And somehow over time the boys have added that they are going to need a car before getting married, too.

But, in Gray's little (or, really, not so little) mind he was confusing the meaning of it all, and today in the bathtub he was thoughtful, and finally asked, "do I HAVE to get a wife when I get a car?"

Because he really just wants a car. A Jeep that he can drive to church, to be exact.

  1. Hee!

I guess we shouldn't tell him that some people consider cars 'chick magnets'. I would think Jeeps, especially.

  4. I can't wait to hear all the funny stuff that comes out of Evie's mouth when she's older. I think that's one of the greatest parts about having kids.

  5. Did you tell him he may change his mind in a few years? It is so funny to find out what kids think about what is being said.

  7. My father-in-law told my eldest that when he grew up and got married he could have one of his old model trains. He missed the "grow up" part and just heard the married part. He has picked out a girl and tells everyone he is going to marry her, when he is 6, so he can get his train. The good news is the father-in-law also loves disney, so he has promised to take his new bride to disney world, so she can get something out of the deal as well. :) Nice to know he has priorities, too bad they are out of order.

  8. how sweet- he's so cute! Emerson doesn't ever want to drive because that will mean she's grown up and would have to live somewhere else. also, she doesn't want to get married- the girl just wants us all to live together forever!

  10. oh, how sweet!
I remebered a story with a girly point of view: my friend's daughter was about 4 and played a part on a school festival and in the play she "married" a boy from her class... When all ended and her mom told her she that no, she wasn't really married and couldn't take her "husband" home with her, she was heart broken! The poor thing cried and cried 'cause she wanted to have her "husband"
    =)
    Oh, my!

    hugs from Brazil!

  12. The title of this post is hysterical.

My husband fails to understand that if I'm not driving, it is my solemn duty to look for the perfect parking spot.

  15. Can't blame him, can ya? A wife will prolly make him wear the wrong kind of pants. And she'd eat the last brownie. The worst, though? She'd prolly want a kiss from time to time. ICK! ;)

  20. Ha! When my baby brother and I were younger (he's 10 years younger than me) I would say that one day he was going to grow up and get married. He just looked at me like I was crazy and said that he was going to live with me and my family and drive a car and get groceries. Girls were still icky to him, sadly he's now into them.
