Through The Years

Look at me not napping.

[Right now I'd planned for us to be at the park, but instead Ivy fell asleep in my arms and so I thought I'd take advantage of that nap but soon the mail man would interrupt and then the boys would be scrounging around in the fridge for lunch and before I know it Ivy is awake and shaking garlic salt all over everything. I swear I am still breathing it in.

So I sent them outside to eat freeze pops and of course they are also filling up the pool and neighbors are over to play nerf guns. I washed dishes and packed snacks for the park. (We'll still go, believe me there is a Starbucks on the way, we will still go.)]

Anyway. I've been getting all nostalgic and was looking up old posts of mine from this time of year.

  2. Belly shots always get me teary... that's a beautiful one.
    Today must be a day of messes. Seriously. Paige is set on running around naked (she's also decided she needs to use the potty... Lord help me...) and I had to clean up yogurt from her girly parts and the chairs, and possibly my computer... I'd much rather be smelling garlic salt than yogurt! :) Have a latte for me...

  3. As a mother of a 12 pound six month old, I can appreciate your post on baby sizes! I get so tired of hearing, "Wow, she's small, are you feeding her enough?" SIGH!

  4. I totally understand the garlic powder!! We've had at least three incidents with the garlic powder over the years, including recently Brigham (1 month older than Ivy) "handing" a newly-bought-that-day-bottle to me through the air ten feet away in a glass bottle on tile floors. There's nothing like having the vacuum scent the air with garlic for weeks after a garlic powder mess! :0

    I loooove your belly shot too! I am having a homebirth with this our fourth, and like your post, was saying "why not?" since the beginning with this one. Less pain, more natural, no risk... Okay! :)

  5. I ♥ reading your blog. I always feel like I "get" what you mean! (I had some one-on-one time with my 3yo the other day and he just assumed, when I asked him what we should do together, that we would be going to get coffee. Hmmm...)

Aside from the obvious hilarity of me commenting about convincing my husband to have a home birth, your belly shot post made me think about how when I first started reading your blog, I knew we were going to get pregnant again. And you were totally my inspiration to want to be a gorgeous pregnant woman the second time around, because I didn't feel so gorgeous with Luke and I wanted a different pregnancy. ANYWAY, this comment is really long, but I just didn't know if I ever told you that the absolutely stunning, gorgeous way you carry a pregnancy inspired me so much.

  8. My boys are sized the same way. A 7lb'er, a 9lb'er, and a peanut 7lb'er....who is still an adorable little peanut now at 4. With big crazy white hair and more personality than he knows what to do with. Blog reminiscing is fun :)

  9. Hehehe I can totally relate! Isaac was all over getting into trouble today. I actually posted about losing my sanity! But here it was pouring rain so we only played outside until we got wet enough, which was about 10min. Hope you had a good park/coffee outing :-)

  16. That was fun looking at all the old posts-I love the one about sizes. My boys are all on the smaller size as well and it frustrates me when people question why they are small...I always want to be like, um, God MADE them that way and it is perfect! :)
