deep breath
If I had enough,
I'd buy you all secret gifts.
Would be de-lightful!
I read and read and read them over again (and you should, too) and my heart kept landing on this one by Kara:
little hand creeps up
warm and soft,seeking mama
pats me on my neck
oh, look!
I'll be emailing and can't wait to find the perfect something to send her way.
We have friends and fireworks and parades all weekend. What about you?

I was *just* cleaning the kitchen and out of nowhere thought, "Oh, I wonder which haiku Steph chose...?" And here it is. It's a good one, too, as were so many of them. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome choice. Beautiful images that would touch any mama. This was so much fun!
ReplyDeleteperfect choice.
ReplyDeleteand this weekend? I have a four year old! the birthday boy stayed in his undies and paper crown all day, and had bacon and cake for breakfast. a good day, i think.
and. I have my first night away from my baby. a kid-free wedding, so grams and gramps are taking the boys.
and of course fireworks and lake michigan. always, on the 4th.
have a wonderful time with your family. xo
I think you picked a great one.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the weekend plans but I do know that hubs is off Sunday and Monday and I am so excited that I will have him for 2 days in a row. We are also going to a Hebrew Nat'l picnic tomorrow afternoon.
Good pick! I was wondering how you were going to choose one, but you did a good job :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kara!
We are having my little guy's 1st b-day celebration tomorrow. I am still in denial that he will be one :-( So bittersweet.
Have a great weekend!
I am so thrilled you chose mine! Thank you so much, and I'm glad others like it too. :)
ReplyDeleteWe are going to see friends and a parade this weekend. The 4th makes me crave homemade ice cream, maybe we will make some!
Great choice! I also really love the photos of Ivy! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th!
That one was my favorite! You should do this more often, just because the push to write outside of myself is always lovely.
ReplyDeletegorgeous girl xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat face!!! You chose well!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kara! Excellent choice for a winner...so poetic, and it didn't sound like a kindergarten student wrote it, like mine did! This was fun, Steph. You should have more writing contests, not for gifts, but for fun. I love reading what your followers come up with...brilliance.
ReplyDeleteThat was fun :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kara. Her haiku was beautifully written.
