For me.

kelly rae roberts 'believe in healing'

A few weeks ago I was shopping and found this canvas, and it took my breath away.

It didn't just speak to me, but it was me. For me.

So I didn't even think about it really, I picked it up and bought it quickly. And when the lady asked if it was a gift, should she wrap it? I said yes. It was a gift. For me.

If you only knew. Sometimes I want you to, want someone to.

Kelly Rae Roberts believe in healing
I am a broken writer, I collect the words all day.

I am a lonely painter. I live in a box of paints.*

I think I'd like to take an art class. I'm going to look into it.

Canvas "Believe in healing" by Kelly Rae Roberts, photos taken by me and posted with Kelly's permission. I also just bought her book and have just decided that Today is the perfect day to start reading it.

  1. This is as breathtakingly beautiful as you.
I know you have your story...and I know it's scary to tell, but sometimes you just need to let the words flow out in one big exhale. I'm always here and always safe to breathe your story out, whenever that day comes. I love you.

  4. Steph,
That is absolutely beautiful. I can see how it is something you picked up immediately. In fact, from the interactions I've had with you those are lessons you are living and have taught me.
"Tell you story" & "Believe in healing." It is perfect!
    Love to you today,
    Katie

  5. I love coming here and reveling in your words. Somehow you always know how to touch my heart while you're pouring out your own.
    Thank you for sharing.
And I love your gift; never a truer message. Believe in healing. Oh, yes, I surely do. And I believe in healing through writing.

  9. I love it! And I'm glad you found it. Somehow, I think, these things have a way of reaching out to us when we need them.

And today I think I will wear a skirt. :)

  15. Kelly Rae's book got me started thinking...about what I wasn't doing with my life. Kelly Rae's e-course (that I'm doing now) has changed my life! She's inspiring, encouraging, sharing and REAL! You are very lucky to have gifted yourself with this wonderful piece. Enjoy it and let it speak to the authentic you.

  17. There is so much about this post :) joni mitchell is always somewhere in my subconscious! And than painting, gorgeous. I recently saw a bracelet that inspired those "made for me" feelings. It said on it "and she lived the life she loved" ... its ordered and on its way :) love those moments, the ones that evoke eveything creative and beautiful in us.

  18. So perfect.

Truth longs to be set free. It eats away at it's place of captivity, especially when that place is our heart.

Our heart strings, yours and mine, will never be broken. Mine tugs, yours tugs, we know. I'm always here.

  19. absolutely gorgeous.

just like you. i love it.

our stories, our whole stories, are almost impossible to tell, aren't they? it is unbelievable to me sometimes that no one....not one person....knows my whole story except me. maybe it is this way for everyone?

  21. its beautiful, you will know when it feels right to share some of your story. Maybe its just a nugget at a time, whatever feels right to you. I hope you gather strength just even if its to breathe easier from this art...its beautiful.

  22. I just took a 3-hour painting class with "Painting with a Twist." I had never painted on canvas before. The teacher guides you through the painting step by step. Everyone paints the same thing. It was a blast! I'm proud of my piece! Painting with a Twist is a franchise. Maybe there is one in your area.

  23. Perfection.

Also, you should definitely take an art class. I took an oil painting class several years ago (pre-Laurel) and it was WONDERFUL. The color mixing part alone made me so, so happy.

And now it's fun to have pieces of art that I painted hanging in our house.
