We came home and played outside for a bit, blew bubbles, I hooped, hubby painted the fence, we had a dance party in the kitchen while I cut veggies for kabobs-
[side note/confession: I turned on praise & worship music and Ivy slammed her head to the table, "Noooo! Juttin Beeber!" and she wailed. So I told her the praise & worship music was Justin Bieber singing. (That's one of those "helping lies" we tell that's totally allowed, right?)]
-hubby grilled up an awesome meal and we had strawberries for dessert, first. Then we went for a long walk through the neighborhood while Carter rode his bike without training wheels for the first time.
This morning I am determined to make them switch over to turkey bacon once and for all, and I had to get out the fancy silverware because we have no clean forks or spoons. I can hear Gray waking upstairs and realizing that his Aunt Lisa pants are not where he left them (I had to sneak them out of there in the night.) It's time we find him some Aunt Lisa shorts.
And I was thinking, to-day is as good an occasion as ever to use the fancy silverware.

Everyday is a good day for fancy silverware
ReplyDeleteMy middle boy is not a fan of changing seasons. We have weeks left of him resisting the switch to t-shirts and pants left. And then in the fall? The reverse will happen with having to COVER his skin all the time.
ReplyDeleteI love that Justin Bieber was singing praise music in your house. :)
Ivy is so cute with her little crush :). I finally got my family switched to Turkey Bacon and they all love it. I am a big Turkey fan of just about everything though since I don't eat red meat.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Sounds like a perfect Saturday...fancy silverware included!
ReplyDeleteI am looking at the last picture and imagining Carter with a mohawk, and YES, he has to get it. Then we can take photos of him with a mohawk and Tommy with a fauxhawk.
ReplyDeletesound like a blessed time :-) Thanks for sharing these happy moment :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd fancy silverware, I'm jealous !!!
I love that last picture you took. I need to get some fancy silverware just so I can start using it on a regular ol' day.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day. We have gone to using our fancy silverware everyday.
ReplyDeleteDoes he just love the pants or the fact that Aunt Lisa got them for him? Do they have those pants in a larger size for him? He seems more like Terry every day. To this day, Terry's favorite clothes are sweat pants and tee shirts.
ReplyDeletePretty soon the Aunt Lisa pants will be shorts! Ace has some Fireman pants I made him for Halloween and he wears them every single day (if we go out the second we come home he changes into them and he often wears them to bed. They are made out of size 3T tuxedo pants (Ace is 5) that he got for my sisters wedding.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing that Ivy knows who Justin Bieber is, I just found out when he was on American Idol! I never claim to be hip or cool.
If I had fancy silverware, today would be the day to use it :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like it was a perfectly lovely day!
how fun! i love fun saturdays. we spent the day at my IL's running thru the sprinkler! My daughter had a blast. my son... not so much!! ;)
ReplyDeleteLife is so beautiful...especially when you write about it.
ReplyDeleteFancy silverwear for all!
Bieber Fever seems to be hitting the very young the hardest!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Ivy is old enough to scream "Juttin Beeber." Wow.
ReplyDeleteHAHA - Love Grey's face there!
ReplyDeleteAnd you're right, I see Noah in Ivy --- face shape or something.
They are all so adorable, Steph and Jeff.
You make 'em cute ;)
Nell
Sounds like a perfect Saturday. We don't have fancy silverware around here, which is probably just as well...
ReplyDeleteI love days like this :)
ReplyDeletevanessa from inevergrewup.net
I love days when we go out {as a family of four- not six} and it feels so comfortable and so easy, like it was really meant to be this way and the hassle of getting two ages two and under out doesn't really feel like a hassle at all.
ReplyDeleteThat really does call for fancy silverware.
Reality. I love it. It's the most beautiful thing around.
ReplyDelete(I say you use the fancy silverware for a week when you find some Aunt Lisa shorts. Talk about a celebratory event!)
What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday... I'm living vicariously through you right now.
ReplyDeleteAnd we call them "friendly lies."
:)
Those are my kind of Saturdays...
ReplyDeleteI like that top of picture of the kids legs dangling down - it makes me imagine their personalities.
ReplyDeleteAlso, inspired by you, I gave my ring sling another try this weekend and I think I might start to like it better than the moby now that my baby is getting a lot heavier. So thanks!
You take the best pics of your four. I can't wait to do some like this when the girl gets a little bigger!
ReplyDeleteOh, so cute, and I am in love with your pretty pictures, Steph. It sounds like your kids eat out a lot better than mine and I only have two :) You rock, mama!! xo
ReplyDeleteI wish every day could be Saturday.
ReplyDeleteWe also had kabobs this weekend and we only eat turkey bacon. My kids don't even know what "real bacon" is. :)
Those days simple must arrive now and then, yes?
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you had a lovely one.
Also, I love any excuse to pull out the fancy silver and dishes. Every day can be a special day.
You have to let me know how the switch to Turkey bacon works! I don't understand what all the fuss is over Justin (am I just old)?
ReplyDeleteThe picture of your kids is adorable! I like that, today is a good day for fancy silverware :)
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are awesome.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the "dailyness" of this post. There is so much beauty in the every-day...
