Our reason. So thankful he's healed today. :)
Today we participated in a rally to bring awareness to parents, to everyone really, that you don't have to vaccinate your children in order for them to attend school.
little activists
Many* people think that children can not go to school unless they are up to date with their vaccinations. Some educators and administrators and even doctors lead parents to believe that is true. But, it's not true. Many* parents vaccinate without even thinking about why they are doing it. Many do because they don't realize they have a choice. Many do because they feel pressured by their doctor, or family, or friends, or commercials on tv and in the magazines. Many feel like they will get in trouble if they don't vaccinate, that their doctor won't like them anymore, that people will think they're weird, many parents feel embarrassed that they don't know enough about it and so they do it anyway, and many think their child won't be able to attend school if they are not vaccinated...
even though they might have a nagging feeling (instinct!) that they just want to find out more first.
I was that parent once. I learned the hard way.
To this day I wish with all my heart that someone had given me the green light to trust my instincts first. I can no longer be quiet about it, and so here's my nudge to you.
