Sarah & I had plans to do something on the beautiful that was yester day and so we decided to go to the park. And why not just go all out and go to The Park.
Sharing super expensive Starbucks Artisan bread that would later be fed to pigeons, seagulls, a finicky squirrel,
and eventually left behind on a restaurant table causing the End Of The World to Gray for about ten seconds.

It's awesome when we can drive into the city and enjoy the day and then be home in time for the bigkids to get off the bus, make dinner (and even bake cookies) and finish laundry and you know, be Mom.

that bean - I love it. So cool you can take a mini-day trip there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I'm so happy you were able to share the day yesterday. I am so sure it was good for both of your souls!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a cool place!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah? Emily and I have Dayton for day trips.
ReplyDeleteSo there.

So cute! I'm hoping to make it to Chicago this summer, never been there! I want to see that bean. ;)
ReplyDeleteFun! That cracked me up about the bread, lol... :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible day! One of my goals in my little 57 things in 52 weeks is to visit the City of Chicago... and this just makes me smile. The kids, the day, the fun, the art of it all! Thanks for sharing. (Also, my Dad was born in Chicago and that has such a magical draw for me... !)
ReplyDeleteI'm so very envious that you can take a day trip there. I have such wonderful memories of that park from Blogher last year. And wow - the trees in bloom! Fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteWow. That's a cool piece to be in the middle of town!
ReplyDeleteThe kids look adorable!
I am hoping to go there tomorrow for a me day. We are so fortunate to live so close. Your kids will always remember these fun days.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a blast!!
ReplyDeleteThat is soo nice to be able to take a day trip! That bean is cool!!
ReplyDeleteSounds fantastic! And, in Gray's defense, I think leaving the bread behind could possibly be the end of the world for me for ten seconds ;)
ReplyDeleteIf I have one regret this summer about BlogHer it was not seeing the Bean. I hope to get to Chicago this summer with the girls for a day trip, so we shall see it then...I hope.
ReplyDeleteVery, very cool!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! When you reminded me (via flickr) about tea collection, I almost bought that green dress!! But we simply have. too. many. clothes.
ReplyDeleteLooks like FUN!
ReplyDeleteOh, I miss the bean. I feel like we moved before we really had time to enjoy the new M. park. Still miss that ol' city from time to time...
ReplyDeleteI used to work practically across the street in that building that says Santa Fe on the top, by the way:)
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed seeing the bean at BlogHer last summer so much. It really very cool.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are lovely.
Way to go! Glad you had a great day!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun... the kind of day I need. Chicago seems like a great city.
ReplyDeleteNell
Ooh! The bean! Even I've been to the bean, and it only took 2.5 hours on an airplane to get there.
ReplyDeleteHow fun. I get to go to Denver on our day trips, which is better than it sounds.
Wow that bean is awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun.
Awesome bean. When I first saw the title I thought you actually found a bean growing! How silly am I? Anyway, great pics! Love ya
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool thing to be able to touch (and photograph!)
ReplyDeleteThe kids loved The Bean the last time we went to Chicago!
ReplyDeleteOh, I was just looking at a friend's photos from a few years ago when her eldest son was still an infant, and she was standing in front of the bean wearing him in this most gorgeous sling. I just love how their image was reflected in it. Now, I see your pics and have this sudden urge to load my family up on a plane or in a car just to make it to Chicago and shoot some pics there. Oh, and eat because you can't go to Chicago and not eat yourself silly. Thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteoh, so cute and so much fun! i wish i had been in the city this same day for this reason instead!! and--feeding birds makes me feel so happy.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've never been to Millenium Park. Next time you go, call me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day trip!
ReplyDeleteHow far is Chicago from where you are?
