The sun came out again. During a walk outside I turned to hubby and said you think maybe the cold is over? That it will just get warmer and warmer?
I knew the answer.
No, it's going to get cold again. But it does feel a little like spring today.
Let's enjoy it.

I know, I know ... I fall for this every January. But, still ... nice to hope, eh? :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice not to have to wear gloves or a hat while running in and out of stores today! I think we all needed a day of sun, because we know how fickle this NWI weather is.
ReplyDeleteLive in the moment, right?
ReplyDeleteNo better time to practice than a January thaw.
Ohhh Steph, this picture. You make me want to add a little girl on to the end of my three boy line-up. <3

YES! Embrace the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteLove love the photo.

I miss my geese! I must see them this week...Great to see Gray in a new coat! Love them...
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet photo!
ReplyDeleteI'm still dreaming it'll get warmer from here on out...
Love the picture. I think we are still in for some cold. It is only the middle of January. It was fun to see the sun and not have to wear gloves and hats today.
ReplyDeleteI had similar thoughts today, thinking how nice it'd be IF we were done w/ the slush, messiness of winter, etc.
ReplyDeleteBut sure enough once summer heat hits, I'd complain for cooler temps.
I do enjoy seeing my boys bundle up w/ their hats. I enjoy their excitement in anticipation for snow.
Yes, live in the now, no matter what.
What a cute picture! (And, you're right around the corner from one of my favorite restaurants!)
ReplyDeleteyes, enjoying now. we got out a bit today and the sun was so bright. i needed to mainline it.
ReplyDeleteoh, and i realize the comments are closed below, but i'm REALLY considering being boot twins with you. well, maybe a different color. i just can't find any flat ones that can adjust the heights like that. i love that!!
ReplyDeleteI said something very similar to my husband today....we're having great weather today, too- no jackets, even!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous! It is raining today in Nor Cal:( I miss the sun.
ReplyDeleteYour kiddies look so happy in it:)
We really enjoyed the brake in the cold too! I wish it would last. That is the cutest picture btw! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteLove, you should TOTALLY BE boot twins with Steph. And I'm not saying that just because I can borrow them. Okay, maybe I am.
ReplyDeleteI caught myself thinking that it was warming up today, for good. And although I know that it isn't, it's a reminder that our days are getting longer and soon enough, it'll be summer days again. Soon.
You kids must think you are the coolest Mom ever. Know, I mean "know" you are the coolest Mom ever... ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy pic!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's been spring-like here, too. I know it will probably get cold again, but I'm enjoying every second of it.
ReplyDeleteMmm, it's rather mild here too! Happy springish happenings!
ReplyDeleteOh there are those cute kids of yours!!!We could have had the same conversation yesterday: I said to hubs after yet another blistering day... we were sitting out doors and a very slight breeze blew - aaahh!!! Is this the end of summer do you think? He says: "Not likely, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it!" Wise words...
ReplyDeleteI know whatcha mean! Enjoy the now, the right now and enjoy the sun a bit later! It stinks, I know it stinks, but at least we can make the best of it!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that gets me through winter is the promise of spring. And coffee.
ReplyDeleteLOVE love LOVE the photo!
I keep seeing Ivy's red jacket pop up in your photos and I am IN LOVE with it! I have a penchant for all things red for my baby girl :) Where is it from? It almost looks vintage.
ReplyDeletewe outside all weekend - it was FABULOUS!! it will probably snow tomorrow, but its nice to get out again!
ReplyDeleteLovely picture! We had a couple mild days here in Delaware too and it was nice. I prefer snow if it is cold otherwise I'm all about spring and summer. I'm glad you enjoyed the warmer days!
ReplyDeleteMel
great shot....enjoy the sunshine while it is here. Another few storms...then the sun will be out more often!
ReplyDeleteWe just had a January thaw. It was 22F in the morning while I sipped coffee, instead of oh, 3F. Downright lovely!
ReplyDeleteBut it's true, life starts now, not when spring is here.
Blessings!
I've been hoping for warmer weather too. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour kiddos are the cutest!
such a great photo! I hear ya on the winter thing...we're having the coldest evah in the past 10 years here in Virginia (er, so everyone tells me...only my 3rd winter north of the balmy southwest and southest).
ReplyDeleteI know, right! Isn't the first burst of warmth great?
ReplyDeleteYour posts are such an encouragement to my day :)
Hon,
ReplyDeletewe call it "January's dilema" over here in SD/NE.
We too enjoyed the warmth yesterday. With the girls off of school Ariel & I took the dog for a walk. It was cooler by the time we got home, but waking up to ice covering everything this morning, I was glad that we went.
ReplyDeletey'all are so cute with your "it feels like spring" while the kids are in their huge winter coats. :)
ReplyDeleteCome visit me for some warmth...
I love love love this picture. Talk to me about your camera. (The cute kids I already know about.)
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to deal, this time of year, isn't it? All the excitement of the holidays and the first few snows is past, and now February and March stretch out before us. UGH.
ReplyDeleteI am making a real effort to ENJOY the winter this year rather than just tolerating it. I mean, I've lived in Michigan almost my whole life, you would think I'd have figured out years ago that warm boots and playing in the snow can make a huge difference, but somehow between ages 13 and 30 or so, I forgot. :)
