Local Peeps, Please Mark Your Calendars

I'm so thankful for every one of you.

I've been there, where I had so much going on in my own little world that I failed to notice what my very dear friends or neighbors were struggling with.

(I know that place like the back of my hand.)

And it's true, sometimes our minds are so full and we are in such a survival mode that it's impossible to focus on anything or anyone else, to even think to ask how someone else is doing,

but there are times that our hearts need to reach out and give service, energy, a listen, a love to someone else...

(Locals, this is where you come in.)

My very dear friend Jen is organizing a spaghetti dinner & bake sale fundraiser for her nephew James. He is just six years old and was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

I actually knew his father Marcus way long ago before I even met Jen. Their whole family is just precious. Will you join my family at this spaghetti dinner on Saturday December 12 from 2-8pm?

The deets:
Dec 12, 2-8 pm
Portage First United Methodist Church
2637 McCool Rd.

Tickets are a minimum donation asked of $5 per person, kids 3 & under are free.

All funds raised will help ease the burden of the medical bills and expenses associated with James' cancer treatments.

You can also follow along this family's journey by becoming a fan of the Jump In For James Facebook page.

If you're unable to attend the spaghetti dinner but would still like to help, you can do so via PayPal on the Facebook page.

I'll be there with my whole fam. We'll probably go around 4-ish but if you want to know the exact time, just email me or what not.

Thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts for sweet James.

Again, group hug.

Oh man. I am so "that person" who is getting through the days and entirely soaked up with their own stuff right now. I don't want to be, but I am. Praying for this little guy now.

It's just so wrong that someone so young should be facing this! I'll be praying for this little guy and his family, and hope to donate when I can.
