It doesn't have to make sense to be awesome.

gray day

Today we did everything together as a family. We haven't had a day like this in a long time.

ivy & the barre

It was busy, and we went a lot of places, but we did it all together. And I liked it.

Christmas lights, ice skaters.

Tonight we drove around looking at Christmas lights.

Christmas lights, wizardy.

You might not know this about me yet, but I love when things don't make sense. Like this Santa/wizard Christmas light display. Awesome.

Christmas lights. Dinosaur Christmas.

There's a lot going on in this picture. Love the dinosaur. So Christmas. For real.

This gets me.

Our whole family went to Meijer today. Not quite as exciting as looking at Christmas lights, but we did talk in the car since traffic is insane in Merr. I guess when your kids are teens, anytime they talk to you is a good time!

sounds like a great day! I can't wait to get the kids into the snow (Lauren's 3rd winter, Ayvie's first)!

Does being sick as a family together count? That's what we did on Friday. All 5 of us, home and sick. It was raining and I thought to myself--this would be my perfect day, all home together in the rain, except that we were sick! This reminds me, I need to plan a night to drive around with my kids & look at lights.

Oh I love days like this too:)
We had one as well (except when Wolf snuck away with Bean and Sam and left Mac,Pixie and I in Barnes and Noble to read while they got a few "Mama presents":) Every minute was our own, from breakfast to snuggles at night where we all fell asleep in the boys bunk beds.

Completely together.

It was a great day for you guys. I'm glad it was filled with a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy. I enjoyed having spaghetti with my favorite family.

today is our day of family togetherness, I am very excited for it. So much so that when the rain was pouring down this morning I was still excited that we were going to be out chopping down our tree. (Thankfully it will stop soon and we can just tromp around in the mud instead)

I've been wanting to bundle Shane up in PJs & a coat, fill the travel mugs w/ hot cocoa, and drive around looking at the lights!

I love the photo of Ivy at the barre, that is just so cute!

I don't quite get the wizard Christmas display...but I really like it!

Sounds like you had a wonderful family day!

We are getting ready to take a ride to see the lights right now. Isn't that the best? Yesterday was the first time I have seen you all together as a family. I was thinking that it was nice to see you with Jeff before I even read this.

I'm with you, Christmas shouldn't make sense. There's a house down the block from ours that has this amazing hodge podge of decorations. There is Santa and snowmen and penguins and 3 nativities and nutcrackers. Even though it doesn't match or follow a discernible theme, it's all the more festive for it.

Went driving last night for Christmas lights. I'd say your area has much better lights than ours!
