Her first photo.
Her first shoes.
Her first hair bow.
Her first ridiculously big hair bow.
Her first boyfriend.
Her first tutu.
If only I could list them all.
But still, nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to her first pigtails.
This amazing euphoria just comes over me,
as she sits so still while I "make her hair pretty pretty"
and
I get those two curly strands of her hair
into the cutest pigtails you ever saw.

Yes, I totally agree
ReplyDeleteOh my heart is all swelled up.
ReplyDeleteI love pigtails too. I have been looking forward to them since I found out Big Sister was a girl. :)
ReplyDeletethe precise reason why I NEED a baby girl : )
ReplyDeleteSWEETNESS! :-)
ReplyDeleteAdorable. Let it be known, though, that not ALL baby girls will tolerate piggy tails... I'm a little jealous - just a little - cuz my girl is adorable just as she is!
ReplyDeleteMan that's cute!!! Isn't it amazing how still they will sit for a hairdo!!!
ReplyDeleteOh!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo.Adorable.
ReplyDeleteThat picture makes me smile big! So sweet your little Ivy!
ReplyDeleteThe first pigtails really are the sweetest. :)
ReplyDeletewe had our first piggy's recently too and i totally agree. and the pea is also shockinly agreeable about the whole thing. i feel so lucky!

So sweet! I have daughter-envy! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh please be still my heart!
ReplyDeleteNell
too. cute.
ReplyDeletei wish my daughter would let me make her hair pretty pretty.
Ah!! Beatitful!
ReplyDeleteI think Gretchen might be 10 by the time she has enough hair for this ^_^
gosh, so adorable! I remember when I first got Emerson's hair into pigtails- I just stared and stared. Ivy's are precious.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I just finished making cupcakes for my oldest son's 4th Bday and I am reflecting on all his firsts!! They differ from Ivy's! First walking stick, first train, first mudbath, first painting the ENTIRE sofa! It is so fun...and just gets better...

It's those little things that just make you stand in awe ... the unexpected beauty in small things is the best, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHope you and your family enjoyed this awesome weather!
I am almost amazed at how quickly time goes by. It's really hard to believe sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, the are precious! Chloe's first pigtails seem so long ago (though it's only been a year.) Those first sweet little strands pulled together with an elastic sure make a momma's heart melt!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I could eat her up. Too cute!
ReplyDeletethose are adorable! what a big day!
ReplyDeleteOh this is so true. I remember when I put my oldest daughter's hair in pigtails for the first time. I was so taken by the cuteness, I might have squealed.
ReplyDeleteAnd suddenly, they are toddlers.
Oh the hair envy! I can't wait until I can do pigtails! Ivy is so cute...
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time i put pigtails in my daughter's hair...love it!
ReplyDeleteThose little pigtails are absolutely adorable! I remember the first time I put pigtails in each of my girls' hair - it always makes them look so different, like a little girl rather than a baby or toddler.
ReplyDeleteSadly, Becca (at almost 4 years old!) doesn't have much more hair than Ivy does. It's somewhat longer, but not really any thicker. She still has 'baby' pigtails. :)
I cannot WAIT until my daughter gets her hair long enough for piggy tails. They just make me go gaga.
ReplyDeletelove that she finally embraces the fact that she needs to keep those curls in back looking fancy :)
ReplyDeleteI forewarned you about this, didn't I??? LOL
ReplyDeleteReeeeeediculously cute. I miss the wisps.
More forewarning: before you know it, you'll be doing this update to the first pigtails post.
SO cute! I had the same experience all over again when the first braids came long...
ReplyDeleteLove. Them.
ReplyDeleteOh I agree...Nothing like getting to finally do pigtails :). I still love them on my girls and even I will wear them still ;).
ReplyDeleteShe's such a cutie.
