PIGGYTAILS!

Her first dress.

Her first photo.

Her first shoes.

Her first hair bow.

Her first ridiculously big hair bow.

Her first boyfriend.

Her first tutu.

If only I could list them all.

But still, nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to her first pigtails.

This amazing euphoria just comes over me,

as she sits so still while I "make her hair pretty pretty"

and

I get those two curly strands of her hair

into the cutest pigtails you ever saw.

  12. we had our first piggy's recently too and i totally agree. and the pea is also shockinly agreeable about the whole thing. i feel so lucky!

  17. gosh, so adorable! I remember when I first got Emerson's hair into pigtails- I just stared and stared. Ivy's are precious.

  18. Love this! I just finished making cupcakes for my oldest son's 4th Bday and I am reflecting on all his firsts!! They differ from Ivy's! First walking stick, first train, first mudbath, first painting the ENTIRE sofa! It is so fun...and just gets better...

  21. Oh, the are precious! Chloe's first pigtails seem so long ago (though it's only been a year.) Those first sweet little strands pulled together with an elastic sure make a momma's heart melt!!

  24. Oh this is so true. I remember when I put my oldest daughter's hair in pigtails for the first time. I was so taken by the cuteness, I might have squealed.

    And suddenly, they are toddlers.

  27. Those little pigtails are absolutely adorable! I remember the first time I put pigtails in each of my girls' hair - it always makes them look so different, like a little girl rather than a baby or toddler.

    Sadly, Becca (at almost 4 years old!) doesn't have much more hair than Ivy does. It's somewhat longer, but not really any thicker. She still has 'baby' pigtails. :)
