I try to give hugs and kisses and declare my love every single morning before the boys head off to school, and the same when they come home.
How I've missed you! Did you have a good day?
Sometimes Oftentimes it's as they're running out the door because they couldn't find a backpack or a shoe or I've made them change into their nicer jeans. Or I'm breakfasting the littler ones or deep in my writing.
But no matter what, the boys know to come get their hug and kiss.
AGh!! So cute. This is what I love about a nice spread between the oldest and youngest - the babies adore their older sibs and the big ones are so nurturing with the littles. I just may have to get out the camera for bus time drop off this afternoon. :)
Every time Hayley gets out of the carpool at school I say "I love you and will miss you so much. Have fun with your friends and listen to your teachers!" Now she says the exact words to her sister and brother when we drop them off at preschool and it makes me smile every time. It is so important to speak our love every chance we get. What a special homecoming!
Oh I love this. Libby is always so sad as Seth gets out of the car at school and is always SO excited to see him after school. I pray that this sibling love continues forever!
When they're teenagers you may think they have outgrown it and you may be the one to hunt them down to give hugs and kisses, but stick with it and they will remember later.
oh steph, that's so awesome! my biggest goal for my family, (well, one of them), is for my kids to grow up really loving one another. that? that was a picture of my vision in a sweet little nutshell :)
Is it sad that my first thought was "this is why I have puppies" and then, "I miss my puppies" (they're 17 hours away with my parents), and then "damn, we need kids." :)
That is so very tender. I love the moment where he realizes she's waiting and hits his knees to really talk to her. And, you know what? I don't really think it every really ends. All seven of my siblings are going to my parents for Thanksgiving and we're all THAT kind of excited to see each other and each other's kids again.
Oh, Stephanie, that is the absolute BEST video EVER!!!! Halia gets so excited when she sees Jade coming up the stairs in the morning. I love watching their relationship grow!
Oh and I just have to say I love that Gray was telling on you and that Ivy wiped away Carters kiss. What a hoot this video was! So much so that I had to come back again.
One of my parents dropped me off at school my entire educational career until junior year of HS. But even into high school, after my younger siblings slid away to class as fast as they could, I still gave Dad a hug, a kiss and told him I loved him before he excited the carpool line. I can't promise that your kiddos will keep on that path, but I can vouch that not all of us grow out of it!
Oh so fabulous...that made my heart smile
