Sigh.
Pity party is over folks, it's closing time.
Nothing like having a friend threaten to come over and do all your laundry and deep clean your house (I swear I might not let her in) to light a fire under my butt. I have actually been doing laundry since six this morning and am almost all caught up. I am feeling a lot better and I'm also feeling motivated. I am also under the influence of a raspberry truffle frappe that Lovelyn brought me.
Oh, Love. She just got back from her trip to Uganda and I still haven't had the chance to sit down with her but please go watch her story. It's not long, but you might want to grab some tissues. (You will even catch a glimpse of some beautiful babywearing.)
(And while I was writing this, Erin left a GROCERY BAG (a re-usable one, at that) on my doorstep of goodies, including ice cream and fresh berries and bread and spinach dip and oh em gee.) And I also told Sarah to stay away when she offered to bring me coffee and visit and Donya sent me a huge sappy email of love while she waits to pop out that baby.)
I am loved. I know this. Thank you.

((Hugs)) I've been there, Steph, and I'm praying for you!
ReplyDeleteGod sure knows when to send that encouragement through our friends! I sit here looking at the mess that is my house and cannot imagine how to get moving and get it done with Jessica tearing things out right behind me or off getting into something while I am trying to move laundry or something. I too am getting over a cold and had sick kids...that croup monster has been at our house for the passed 2 weeks barking its way through the 4kids.
ReplyDeleteI am now encouraged to tackle the to do list.
Happy Friday!
You are loved, very much so.
ReplyDeletetoday is brighter already....
{{{HUGS}}} Oh girl - soooo glad that you have had love pouring in on you! You deserve it!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more overwhelming than mothering when totally exhausted and sick.
I hope the love continues to pour over you today and always.
LOVE YOU!!!
I just went and visited Love's site - THANK YOU for sending me. So beautiful - so inspiring!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing friends you have.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you are going through everyone is here with you!
Pouring your heart out to countless people only leads to countless amounts of love bounced right back at you!
Hope things go better for you...
One day at a time...
It sounds like you have some very special friends! I hope you feel better. Take care of you, the house can wait, and in no time you will be ready to have it back to normal.
ReplyDeleteSo great to have friends like that! I'm having one of those days here, right along with you.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a tough morning - glad to hear you're being loved on & I hope everyone gets to feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've had a rough morning! But it's so true that beauty is in the moments of strife as much as the great ones. When we persevere through days that feel like they will never end or get through that huge amount of laundry it allows us to realize part of our beauty lies in the strength to survive this craziness!
ReplyDeleteAnd aren't friends great? I think they are truly the angels God uses to lift us up.
Things will get better! In the mean time, you are very lucky to have such good friends. Not everybody has that.
ReplyDeleteYou are loved and that says a lot about you!

Oh boy, Steph... that video just made me all mushy inside. I feel in love with him - Love is such a beautiful lady.
ReplyDeleteFunny how I decided to dust off a personal letter about adoption today and post it.
Thank you for sharing with us.
Nell
It seems as though you have such amazing, loving friends! You are so blessed! Take care, and have a peaceful weekend... :)
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing better then encouragement & love from good friends :)

ReplyDeleteYou are SO loved always. Glad you felt it so much today.
ReplyDeleteWhat great friends!! I hope you get all caught up and all better soon! That Uganda story is something. When I was there, I noticed that every mom is a babywearer - and sister, and brother, and auntie and so on. And those kiddos are well adjusted, resilient, happy, and adorable!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what loving friends.
ReplyDeleteJust remember that whenever you're down, we'll pick you up. Always. I hope you took Beth up on her offer. I'm still regretting not taking her up on an offer to clean after Tommy was born!
ReplyDeleteOh lady, you ARE loved. Because you're YOU.
ReplyDeletePeace, friend.
Um...this is Heather (of the EO) and apparently my brother-in-law was signed in to this computer.
ReplyDeleteSo yeah...that was me. And I don't know how to stop being Kevin...
Hilarious.
It is so wonderful to be so surrounded by friends and loved ones. One day at a time Steph. You are an amazing mom and your kids will grow up knowing love and compassion. :-)

It dosent wash the loads of laundry, wash the dishes and clean the rooms but it does make me feel better to know other moms are having the same What in the world am I going to do?, type of weeks. I just went to clean a friend of mines house the week before. So know you are not alone. HUGS
ReplyDeleteSteph, I guess I have been wrapped up in my own life over here, but Ia m so sorry you are feeling bad, and so glad you have people taking care of you. Hope you get better soon, and I'll try to stop in this week for that jacket.
