For those who were asking about the pattern, I posted it on Ravelry.com (I'm BabywearKnittery if you're on there) - the pattern is Little Girl's Sundress or Jumper by Diane Soucy and I found it to be super easy, especially if you already know how to make a sweater or hat.

When I saw the first picture, I wondered if that was the pattern you had used - it's saved in my list on Ravelry for my daughter! It looks great. I think it'll be my next project...after I finish the three I already have going!

I heard that the movie isn't really for children. You sure wouldn't know by the looks of the trailer and how they market it. I'm sure a lot of parents have taken their kids to see the movie and walked away feeling no-so-good about it.

Purple has been my favorite color since I was a wee babe (it was the color of that purse I had with the ID card that I wrote my name as "Stephanie Jones"). Even though black and green are a close second, I still swoon over purple.
Plus, purple is a huge fall trend, so she's super hip (as usual). :)

I love how this dress turned out! The yellow one is sweet, and little vintage-y, and then this one is a little more hip and modern. Ivy's such a fashionista!
I was a bit worried that the movie might be a bit darker than the previews showed. I definitely want to see it (when I was 5 or 6 I was in a thing at school that was like interpretive dance of the book!), but thanks for the heads up about how it might be too much for a small child.

Thank you! Funny - I just signed up to Ravelry last week! I can't wait to start this. I have so many projects either going, or in the planning of. I just finished making my husband a hat. His only hat until we got married was a yellow striped hat with a pom pom that he found on a bus about 10 years ago (eewww!). He wouldn't part with it because of the pom pom. I was like, Honey, I'll make you one with a pom pom. He asked for a pom pom bigger than his head (Riightt...) I compromised and put 5 on the ends of various length I-cords and attached them to the center. He's happy, and the yellow hat went to hat heaven, so I'm happy. :)

The thing about mom-made clothes is they are automatically heirlooms. Someday, Ivy's little girl may be wearing that same dress.
