For those who were asking about the pattern, I posted it on Ravelry.com (I'm BabywearKnittery if you're on there) - the pattern is Little Girl's Sundress or Jumper by Diane Soucy and I found it to be super easy, especially if you already know how to make a sweater or hat.
You can see more of my knitting projects at Ravelry or at my old knitting blog- And She Knits... guess I should update it a bit!
I took the boys to see Where the Wild Things Are this past weekend and posted my thoughts about it at Real Moms Guide. See below for all of my most recent articles there if you would like to check them out.

When I saw the first picture, I wondered if that was the pattern you had used - it's saved in my list on Ravelry for my daughter! It looks great. I think it'll be my next project...after I finish the three I already have going!
Both dresses are beautful!
And I can comment again, yay!
thanks for the movie review, I trust your opinion and am thinking about bringing my 5 year old.
I think we might opt for that meatball flying out of the sky flick...
I think the dress is adorable. Love the colors.
So adorable! Thanks for sharing :)
LOVE that little dress and color combo is so sweet!
That is awesome! I so want to learn how to knit but every time I try I end up distracted and never finish.
TOO cute!
That is gorgeous!
I heard that the movie isn't really for children. You sure wouldn't know by the looks of the trailer and how they market it. I'm sure a lot of parents have taken their kids to see the movie and walked away feeling no-so-good about it.

I love the colors you used! Super sweet!
It is so cute!
Beautiful. I only hope that some day I can move past blankets and scarfs and knit something like this! :)
Purple has been my favorite color since I was a wee babe (it was the color of that purse I had with the ID card that I wrote my name as "Stephanie Jones"). Even though black and green are a close second, I still swoon over purple.
Plus, purple is a huge fall trend, so she's super hip (as usual). :)
Beautiful job! I'm a crocheter and learning to knit...it's so hard for me to do -- you make it look easy!!
Oh my god. The cute HURTs. The kick-ass knit, and then her sweet hair...
Ow, ow, ow.
Cute!
How cute! I love it!!
I love how this dress turned out! The yellow one is sweet, and little vintage-y, and then this one is a little more hip and modern. Ivy's such a fashionista!
I was a bit worried that the movie might be a bit darker than the previews showed. I definitely want to see it (when I was 5 or 6 I was in a thing at school that was like interpretive dance of the book!), but thanks for the heads up about how it might be too much for a small child.
And wow, I won? I don't even know what to say. Thank you so much. I'm excited to wear it as a reminder of the things God calls us to do.
Wow so cute! I love the colors!
Oh so pretty!
What a neat little pattern.
good job, steph!
and so excited kaylee won the necklace! =)
Cute cute!
Thanks for the thoughts on the movie. I recently read this article on it: http://www.russellmoore.com/2009/10/19/where-the-wild-things-arent/
I haven't seen it yet, So hmmm....
I so wish I could get knitting....sadly I can only crochet. That dress is beautiful!
You simply amaze me that you can just make something so wonderful.
Who's a rockstar? you.
Thank you! Funny - I just signed up to Ravelry last week! I can't wait to start this. I have so many projects either going, or in the planning of. I just finished making my husband a hat. His only hat until we got married was a yellow striped hat with a pom pom that he found on a bus about 10 years ago (eewww!). He wouldn't part with it because of the pom pom. I was like, Honey, I'll make you one with a pom pom. He asked for a pom pom bigger than his head (Riightt...) I compromised and put 5 on the ends of various length I-cords and attached them to the center. He's happy, and the yellow hat went to hat heaven, so I'm happy. :)
Thanks for the honest review of Where The Wild Things Are. I have a supersensitive 6.5 yo, and I won't be taking her.
Cute!
Oh wow - I wish I could knit!
I'm just amazed that you can do such a thing.
So, are you making leg-warmers yet?
You always make me smile ... really big.
The knitted dress is just precious.
Oh.So.Pretty.
I love those colors.
Are you going to open up an etsy shop? ;)

Oh I envy you! I would love to knitt and have trid many times to learn. I just do not have the patiens!
I love that dress...but I can't get over how cute those little elbows are.
That dress is adorable. So is the kiddo in it. You're making me want to learn to knit!
I wish I could knit!
The thing about mom-made clothes is they are automatically heirlooms. Someday, Ivy's little girl may be wearing that same dress.
So sweet.
My mom knitted my daughter this dress off of ravelry.com in pumpkin orange. I just love it!
