Grayson's beloved doggy slipped from his hands while walking along the bridge above a fast-flowing creek. You could hear his broken heart as he screamed for his doggy being swept away in the stream.

We ran along the creek to see if we could find a low place to grab it. Next thing I knew, Lovelyn had her jeans rolled up and was in the water.

Doggy floated by and she scooped him up, rung him out, and saved the day!

Awww - how sweet is that???
Aw, what an awesome friend!
What an awesome friend!!
As a mother of 2 who both have "loveys" all I can say is that she is a HERO!
(at first I thought you were talking a bout a REAL dog...it's early and no coffee yet)
Yay for Love!!!
that's amazing! Love this!
She is so sweet. She totally glows with love and kindness.
Nell
so so sweet
Luke and I used to dip our feet in that water in July, and it was COLD then. Lovelyn is a stuffed dog rescuing hero!
Oh my gosh. How sweet. Oh gosh I can imagine his little heart breaking watching his doggy drift away. How heartbreaking. Lovelyn really is an angel. :-)
yay :)
That is so sweet! You've got a great friend there!!
That is one of my parenting fears. My daughter losing her beloved bear. She can not function without it and goes no where without it.
And, what a true friend you have!!!! How blessed you are to have a friend like that!
Wow, what an awesome rescue and an awesome friend! I love how you captured it.
Awwww
Oh what an awesome story that is! Cheers for Love!! :)
any mom who heard how heartbroken Gray was would've done it!
well, and i love him. =)
HERO!! I can't imagine the horror of watching your lovey float away!
That is one great woman! I'm sure Grayson was so happy to have his doggie back.
Awe yay! What a sweet thing to do ^_^
I shouldn't giggle, but I could envision the entire scene in my head. How wonderful Lovelyn was brave enough to battle the ferocious rapids WHILE WEARING HER BABY to save a lonely, little doggie. AND, I can just envision, the loving reunion between Grayson and doggie. And you know what? The experience is amazing when shared with a good friend too, no?
Oh, and P.S. - Lovelyn is BEAUTIFUL! Both on the inside and out!
All this wile wearing her baby ...Awesome!
What a lovely friend!
Such a cute story!
that's a fantastic friend!! any mom who has had a kid with a lovey knows how much of an emergency that was! (sleep would be non-existant here if that happened).
What an awesome friend, look at look at her baby is giving it is so funny.
Maybe it is the hormones or maybe lack of sleep or maybe because I can feel the heartbreak in your sons cries and the joy and happiness of the rescue BUT this made me cry!!! Thanks to good friends!
Now that is a good friend! What a beautiful story. Gray is going to delight in this story some day.
My word, look at her! Carrying a baby, rescuing a doggy in water...a true hero! :)
Is there anything about this woman that isn't perfect? Gotta love her! Maybe your next post should be about all her flaws. You know, just so we know she's human like us. :)
Wow, she is definitely one very awesome friend!
And ALL while babywearing!! That Lovelyn is a Rock Star! : )
Oh, we all need that kind of a friend. You are blessed.
Bri
what a wonderful story with a wet happy ending!
Lovelyn saves the day...lucky Gray!
nothing like a good rescue story! hooray for lovelyn!
She's awesome!
Hahahahaha! That's so sweet!
Awwww, yay!

ohmigosh what a great ending and what an awesome friend! and you were like a journalist capturing it during breaking news!!! so glad it had a happy ending!!
What an apropos story for a site called "Adventures in Babywearing" :-) Glad doggy is safe!
OMG, she's fantastic!
She so rocks!
Yay for Lovelyn! how very nice of her!
Haha! How funny...dramatic story...and even more dramatic ending! She's a HERO! :) Good stuff!
Now that's just lovely - don't we all need someone like that shadowing our lives! One of us once let a beloved kits go and it was whisked away by the wind, over the ocean and beyond site and the manly acceptance that that's life, from one so short, just about killed me!
okay, these have been really fun to read! but, i do have to say that RandomBlonde is totally right...i've wanted to do a post saying how much FAIL is in my everyday, too! kinda busy right now....but that is coming. for now:
i did not get dressed today...AND i went into public.
i took the stress of making last minute arrangements out on my sweet husband that was totally trying to help.
and i let my 2 year old watch THREE dora's in a row while i made arrangements for uganda!!
=)
Oh that is so awesome!!! Very cool of her!!
What a great friend! And she looks absolutely adorable wearing her baby in the stream and her jeans all rolled up. Awesome!
What an awesome friend! Only another mother understands what it would have been like if the doggy hadn't been retrieved!
What a heroine!
I think of another heroine, one who let a small boy spit hot dog into her cupped palms...
Awww, that's nice. Good rescue story!
What a great friend! My son has just fallen in love with a little puppy I bought him at Walgreens for about $2 or something - he calls him 'new puppy' and wakes up from naps crying for him. :)
so sweet! I'm sure Gray is extra thankful for his lovey and for Lovelyn now :)
Too cute!
Wow! What a great rescue by such a great friend! I'm glad she was able to get it for him :)
Gotta love that Baby Hawk! Gives you the freedom to jump right in!
