So close

Exactly one year ago today, about this time, my water broke. And soon, so soon, I'd meet this little girl that would change my life forever, born right on my bedroom floor.

She has taught me things about myself. She has changed me for how I wish things to be for her, for me.

She's not a baby, but she's my baby.

We're still nursing, and will for a long time I am sure. She sidles up to me and plops down into my lap, and she'll lean back and look up and snuggle and love and this right here is a piece of heaven, I do believe.

  3. I know I told CE this, but I don't know if I ever told you. The night I was in labor with Tommy, I clicked back through to read Ivy's birth story as inspiration to get through the pain of natural birth again, and I remember reading how it only took eight minutes of pushing and thinking that if it took eight minutes for your fourth child, then I could probably get #2 out in about twenty minutes. Ahh, hindsight.;)

  15. That picture of you and Ivy is beautiful. Love it! You seem to be taking this milestone birthday in stride. Here on this end I'm all emotional about your baby turning one already. Last year as you were tweeting her birth I was also anxiously awaiting the birth of our little guy. Thanks for sharing her first year with all of us.

  70. I have a baby girl eleven days younger than Ivy- and we are still EXCLUSIVELY breastfeeding. She is just not that into solids, so we're taking it slow.
    But this year has passed far too quickly for my taste, so I am soaking up all the mommy/baby time I can get. I am so in awe of how wonderfully we are made!

    And I am in love with the turquoise set. Teething bites around these parts; I've been eyeing those products for a bit!
