"Mama?"
I ran to her and scooped her up and felt so special that I had someone to call me Mama like that.
Just now I was looking at her and blinking my eyes and am sure I saw her grow right there in front of me.
She got her first big boo-boo the other day, on the side of her nose. You see, she thinks she can fly. And also my friends call her a pinball. It's pretty accurate.
But she just gets right up, doesn't even take the time to cry or dust herself off, and tries to fly again.

awwww.. she is so adorable!!
ReplyDeletemy oldest read aloud the other day for the first time. It was a pretty magical sound, too.
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful!
Whenever I see that little girl it makes me smile so much... she's perfect!
ReplyDeleteShe is just a doll!
ReplyDeleteJackson got a really bad boo boo the other day too, he fell and got a nasty cut at the corner of his eye.
But, he got up and kept on playing...they are so tough at this age. :-)
She is just darling!
ReplyDeleteLove that smile!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the sound of "Mama" is just divine, isn't it?
OMG...love her outfit! She needs mimi to kiss her boo boo...I miss her.
ReplyDeletea new brain, I swear. I read her shirt and my heart skipped a beat --- until I realized it said LITTLE sister. HA ;) I don't know what has happened to my brain.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful. I hear Dada and Dog-dog all day long... I only heard Mama when he was younger and crying. I can't wait to hear it again.
This phase of life is full of sweetness and delight, isn't it? Truly the sweetest time of a child's life.
She is beautiful - Boo-boo or not!
Nell
She makes my one remaining ovary ache. She's scrumptious :)
ReplyDeleteShe's so precious! May I please ask where you got that adorable shirt and leggings? I'm looking for big/little sister/brother shirts for my kids when the new baby arrives!
ReplyDeleteHer shirt & leggings are from Gymboree.
ReplyDeleteI also have been trying to keep everyone updated on where her outfits are from on my Flickr, too, LOL.

She looks so BIG now that she's 1!! My Libbie is 11 months and seems more like a little girl and less like a baby every day. It kills me and overjoys me at the same time. She only pulls out "mama" for the big guns--if she REALLY REALLY wants my attention. But she babbles "dada" all day.
ReplyDeleteWish we lived closer and could get them together to play. It would be a hoot. AND we got our No Slippy Hair Grippies yesterday. I LOVE THEM! THEY STAY IN! That is, unless a certain child yanks them out. Sigh.
they grow so fast! what a cutie! my second daughter saw ivy's picture and said, "i want to hug baby."
ReplyDeleteShe's gotten so big! What a beautiful smile :)
ReplyDeleteI just love the sweet mama's that come out of their mouths when they first wake up. Sort of makes the rest of the day alright.
ReplyDeleteI can think of no better sound than that sleepy little perfect voice calling me "Mama."
ReplyDeletecutie! mommy/mama is my favorite word. EVER.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie pie and I love her outfits! I have two little boys. All we get are jeans and t-shirts. :(
ReplyDeleteAwww... This post increases my desire to be a mama. What lucky and beautiful Mom and Baby pair you make.
ReplyDeleteShe's a doll... I've just discovered your blog and I'm impressed. Your daughter is the definition of cute
ReplyDeleteOh, WOW, she's getting big. She's just lovely, Steph.
ReplyDeleteBri
Gosh she is so cute Steph. She is just looking so grown up too. Libby still has no teeth (the first two are going to pop through any day now) so she still looks like such a baby, I love it!
ReplyDeleteOh swoon...was that the first time she'd said it??
ReplyDeleteomg, you just want to eat her!! xoxxox ps, thanks for the other day step, it was really appreciated!!
ReplyDeleteAwww...I LOVE it when infants say "mama" for the 1st time. She is WAY TOO cute for words :)
ReplyDeleteI've never had a video monitor and I'm thinking about one for this time around.
ReplyDeleteSo I don't miss out on moments like this...
Oh man, I love this post and I love that little pinball, too.
ReplyDeleteShe is so big these days and so sweet and full of light.
ReplyDeleteHer hair is filling in already! Lucky duck, you get to play with hair pretties and hair-dos earlier than I did!! :)
ReplyDeleteShe is scrumptious and edible. The end.
Hi. I run a natural and organic website for children & babies. I am interested in talking with you about writing and consulting for us. I don't know the best way to get in touch with you.
ReplyDeleteThe website is franklingoose.com. I enjoy your blog!
Look how stylish she is! She's a fashionista already. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd what a truly joyful smile that is. It looks like you caught her in the middle of a genuine laugh.
