We lost a kazoo somewhere in the dinosaur bones.
Stopped by to see the great-grand parents for a treat.
Said NO to Ivy wanting to get too close to the stairs over and over and over and over again (and over again.)
Said YES to a wagon ride.
Taught the older boys about "Beaver to Leaver". Brandon has freckles and Mrs. C told us about that show. Is it real beavers? Did you watch it, Mom?
I told them it was about a boy their age and his older brother. It was not in color like they watch TV today, but in black and white. Whooooa, black and white?! AWE-sum.
We had dinner at the park with friends and played until dark.
And then I took all four kids to Target.
And came home and put them to bed and now it's quiet and I'm going to do some knitting.

I hear you with the stairs... over and over and over. Geesh. ;-) Those one year olds...
ReplyDeleteLucky for me, Libby is a PRO at the stairs. I am so glad too, she used to just sit at the top of them and cry for me. Now she is up and down all day long.
ReplyDeleteI'm also off to do some knitting. What are you working on?
What Fun~
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day...I love fun, full days like that.
ReplyDeleteI love your photographs! They always look so good.
ReplyDeleteAnd where on earth did you get Ivy such a cute outfit?
I like your day:)
ReplyDelete<3
Sounds like a wonderful day!
ReplyDeletenice day :) my babe is not well getting fever i think from his teeth trying to come out..will have to call the dr to check
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are awesome, especially the one with Gray looking up at the dinosaur. And the ones with the folks. These are memories we will cherish in years to come. That is so funny about Leave it to Beaver, mine and Diane's favorite show growing up.
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a great day, Steph! What fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the title of your post... LOVE that song! :)
What a lovely day! Thanks for sharing and as always your children are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove all of these photos, especially the Field museum ones. I really have to go!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had pictures of Luke and Ivy's most passionate kiss. Despite being the biggest bully ever last night, he told me that Ivy is pretty and he really liked Gray and Gray's big red dinosaur.
Thanks for sharing such beautiful words and pictures. I really love reading your blog because of how upbeat and grateful you are for your children. It helps remind me how much I love mine and to really enjoy the simple moments with them.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, every time I see a new set of your photos I want a new camera so badly. You do an amazing job and the kids look like they are having a good time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day :)
ReplyDeleteI am a new reader to your blog and I just have to tell you that the first photo at the Field Museum is to die for. Great shot! Looove the Field Musuem. : )
ReplyDeleteDidn't you go to see the mummies? That used to be the place everyone wanted to see. I think that was before the T-Rex was there. Chicago has the best museums! My favorite was always Science & Industry. I haven't been there since we moved to Colorado.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun-filled day! Your pictures are gorgeous. I like the great-grandparents photo with the light behind. Very nice.

Those are beautiful pictures! i love the look on Ivy's face.
ReplyDeleteThat totally made me miss living in Chicago! Sounds like a great day.
ReplyDeletelooks and sounds like a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteI can't get over Ivy's eyes in that one photo of her. Wow!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Glad you guys had a good day.
ReplyDeleteJackson won't stay away from stairs either.
ReplyDeleteHe's pretty good at going down them (he slides on his knees) but not so good at going up.
The other day he had a failed attempt at going up and rolled down about 3 stairs.
He hasn't attempted to climb them since.
Beautiful photos. Ivy is stunning!
It sounds like you had an amazing day, Stephanie! LOVE THOSE!
ReplyDeleteI hope if we have kids they watch shows like Leave it to Beaver. I feel the need to buy them all on DVD and never let my kids know live TV exists.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how life can be at once so hard and so perfect, isn't it? It looks like a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteBig Sister LOVES stairs too. Everywhere we go I am chasing her and trying to keep her away from the stairs. But that still sounds like a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you knitting? I'm working on two very nearly identical pink beanies for a fellow swap mama. I love to hear what other people are working on.
ReplyDeleteThose are really great photos Steph. Sounds like a wonderfully fun day. I miss Chicago :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, I *loved* the Field Museum the one time I've been there. Your photos made me want to go back. I'm envious that your little ones get to go there. Lucky kids!
ReplyDeleteOhmywow, I LOVE Ivy's outfit!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a FUN day!
I just love that close-up photo of Ivy. Her eyes are so flippin' gorgeous. And that TOP...pretty darn cute.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos, Steph. The one with Grey looking at the dinosaur is stunning. The lighting is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love them all, actually. Looks like a lovely day out with your baby boy and baby girl.
I love Ivys dress and at least you did not loose the monkey.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic day it looks like...and gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful, beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteThe look on her face in the picture where you said you kept having to take her away from the stairs CRACKED ME UP.
ReplyDelete"whatever mom" is completely in her eyes LOL
Such a pretty dress she's wearing. Is that Tea Collection? {I love their stuff}
