Adventures In What Ivy's Wearing

come along with me!!
Come along with me!

I've been reminded that I am slacking off on sharing where Ivy's fashionable duds are from and I decided for now I'll just try to remember to let you know in the descriptions on my flickr. For future reference, you can also get to my flickr page via the widget in my lower left sidebar or by clicking on the photos in my blog posts.

While it might be surprising to you that supercute baby clothing companies aren't throwing their collections at Ivy's feet, pretty much everything she wears is what we buy her ourselves.

(Not that I'd have a problem with, say, Tea Collection or Misha Lulu knocking down our door.)

I will answer the two most common questions as of late:
Where did you get that headband?!
That is from Gigi's- and it was something I got when writing at Mama Speaks (which is no longer around). When we found out we were having a girl, they sent a whole box of gorgeous hats and headbands and lace leggings!
Where did you get her shoes?!
Currently, the only shoes you'll see her wearing most likely are by Pediped. She has the pink floral and gold stars. I bought them at a boutique near us and even though they started showing wear within ONE DAY they are the only shoes that stay on, protect her sweet toesies, and allow her to walk run everywhere without tripping over her feet.
If you have any favorite shops or brands I need to know about, please share! No, don't. Maybe you better not. Ok, nevermind, please do!

  1. I kept Sweetpea in pediped at that age too, but you are SO right, they don't wear well at all...she put holes in hers & they should outgrow them before they wear them out!

Now that Sweetpea's feet are older, I'm hoping the flex design wears better.

  2. SO adorable.

For the millionth time, I SO WANT A GIRL TO DRESS UP.

Untill then, I have my baby great-nieces.

(I am totally ordering a reclaimed tshirt dress from prairie mama. We live in the same little valley!)

  9. She just couldn't get any cuter! I wish I had a girl :-)

I love Tea Collection clothes. For shoes, I really like Jack and Lily. They have some darling designs for girls!

I also love Toni Tierney, Deux Par Deux, Biscotti, Baby Nay, and Luna Luna.

    Enjoy!

  10. So cute! I love Matilda Jane too, but have never bought anything, lol! My 13-mo son does have some orange leather Pedipeds, but they scuff up at the toes quite a bit. Just recently I bought him a pair of soft-soled Pediped-like shoes at Target. They aren't leather, but are soft-soled, don't scuff, and super-cute! The girl's were cute too... See Kai Run has cute shoes too, but we haven't had any to let you know about wear...

  11. I love the tea collection, I think they make such cute well made clothes.

As for the shoes, thanks for the heads up! My niece will be walking any time now, and boy is she going to need them! She's persistent that one!

  12. Jessica is still wearing pedipeds too. Her feet are small for her age but lots of top of the foot fat so nothing else really fits...Robeez work too but not nearly as cute.

  13. I love Tsukihoshi shoes for kids. They are great for their feet - especially nice for a wide foot or taller footbed as my kiddo has. They wash up wonderfully in the washer too.

  14. She is as precious as ever! I love that she's as fahionable and photogenic as her mom!!!

  15. If you like Pedipeds, you should check out Bugaloo. They make shoes similar in style to Pediped. But I think they hold up better.

Plus, they have a great mission (5% of each purpose goes to the International Justice Mission).

  16. She is always looking so fashionable and cute! I miss having a little girl to dress up. My teens are not so much into what I deem "cute". In fact, that's a sure way to get them NOT to wear something...for me to say it's cute.

  17. Oh I just rediscovered your blog and oh how I missed it!! I used to be Life As a Mom at 21, but recentley started over fresh.

So glad to have found you again. Ivy has gotten so big since I last read (the month she was born)

  19. Oh THANK YOU for the shoe reference, I've wondered about that. I too love the tea collection, so cute.

Oh.. I'll share my fave place to get my girls' clothes, not sure if you've heard of them or not. Naartjie, they have quite a few stores but they are all on the westcoast. Their website (naartjie.com) is pretty good and their clothes are awsome, the cotten is sooo soft and wears fantastic. It's always the first pieces my girls will go for in the clothes.

There's my piece to help out Ivy's wardrobe.

  21. wow! I just think she is so adorable and the clothes you dress her in are supercute!! This photo is fantastic!
Just curious, do you ever just sit back and watch your children and pat yourself and your hubby on the back and say "wow, we did good!" if not you should!! You have done a great job with your children and continue to! I love reading about the beauty you find in each one of them!

  22. I swoon over this shop a lot: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6410876 So many cute items!!

  23. Steph...Kohl's carries a line of kids stuff called Jumping Beans. Madaline wore this canvas Mary Jane like sneakers all summer. And, then I was just there, and had made her same favs more appropriate for fall/winter, so I picked her up a few pairs. Maddy is ROUGH on shoes, at they were able to stand up to the wear and tear - and at about $10.00 a pair, you can't beat it.

Or, for the longest time, we did Stride Rite.

  24. The angle of this photo makes it look like it's in motion. She is a girl on the go...

  25. Ivy's clothes always look adorable. Then again, Ivy is the type of baby that you could put in a paper sack and she would still win a pageant. Too cute!!
