Friday I had my "new" old camera, and used the rest of my gift card to buy Noah's shoes. I was completely content. I do admit that I had hope in my heart that I would somehow have enough money to upgrade to that awesome deal on the Nikon D60 within 30 days (the store's policy.)

To my really big surprise, last night someone very close to me had felt it on their heart to bless me with the camera I was hoping for.

These photos were the first shots taken with my new Nikon D60. I have so much to learn, especially with editing and oh there are a lot of buttons! but I am eager and excited.
And yes I put Ivy in the same dress as the other day because I love that dress so much.

ReplyDeleteSteph, that is so wonderful! The pictures are beautiful and crisp and the colors are lovely. Congratulations!!! I have the same camera (sweet husband made some $$ sacrifices to get it for me this past spring) and I love it. I know that in Beth you have the best learning resource but for what its worth, I really wanted to learn how to use all of those buttons and embarrassingly enough - Nikon D60 for Dummies was wonderfully helpful.Anyway - have fun!

ReplyDeleteOh wow, what a tremendous blessing! We were saving for a SLR, but our old camera died so we had to get something with what we had. I have the same camera you had -- I love it.
ReplyDeleteA new camera? Always the best gift!
ReplyDeleteSteph, that's awesome. What a blessing! You will have so much fun with your new camera. I've had mine for 2 years and I am still learning! LOL.
ReplyDeleteSteph, you are So blessed, but I think you already know that. You have the best in-laws. I love Ivy's dress and picture of grandpa with Ivy.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I ended up getting, too! I started with the D40 but when I had a snafu the first week and needed to replace it, they only had the D60 in stock (which is what I really, truly wanted to begin with)! I am LOVING it, too!! Yay!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I bet you I can guess who the someone special is.. ;)
So very happy and excited for ya!!!
ReplyDeletegreat pictures in all 3 posts & quality is awesome. I've been totally wanting a new camera, so I now I have camera envy.
ReplyDeleteAren't those unexpected blessings just the greatest! One of these days I hope to have an SLR but until them I'm happy with my PowerShot - it does a really great job! Although... I would also like something like the Nikon CoolPix just so that I had a small camera that was easy to carry around too :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome, lucky you. I am dying to upgrade my camera, but don't have the cash at the moment (or maybe ever). Have fun learning how to use it. Can't wait to see some great pics.
ReplyDeleteYay for the new Nikon! Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing blessing!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so very exciting! Congrats on the new camera. Let the fun er um.. I mean addiction begin ;).
ReplyDeleteYAY! I feel the same way about the buttons and the editing. I still don't really have a clue and I've been using mine for two years. (Nikon) I like to wing it wing it. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how the universe works that way?
ReplyDeleteThe other day I mentioned on facebook that I needed a new camera and some skirts. Within a couple of hours someone emailed me, saying they were about to get rid of some skirts and a new camera that they never used when they saw my post. Now I am getting it.
Love the photos, by the way.
WOW that person must really love you!
ReplyDeleteI adore my Nikon D40!

Ask and you shall receive! Congrats on the new camera and thanks for sharing the story to remind us that there are still nice people out there. Enjoy the new camera. By the way that dress is adorable so keep snapping away with Ivy in it!
ReplyDeleteIvy is really coming into her own and discovering her own beauty.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Those are gorgeous shots!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that Steph!!! I'm so happy for you. We have been saving for the Canon Rebel and I'm hoping by next month we will have it in time for our family Disney trip.
ReplyDeleteYou have done really awesome with the first photos. Ivy is so beautiful!!!
That's awesome, Steph! Have fun!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't she pretty? I especially love that first shot. Sometimes the best pictures are when kids are looking AWAY from the camera.
ReplyDeleteP.S. What program did you use to "edit" these photos? :)
stephanie@metropolitanmama.net
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention how cool it is that someone would gift you with a camera like that. That "somebody" must be super special.
ReplyDeleteAnd so are you.

ReplyDeleteI love that sometimes, sometimes we're blessed richly in ways that affirm that we're doing the right thing.
not that we're required to be or do "right" to receive but it sure makes those hard decisions feel ever so much sweeter in hindsight.
