Hubby did the babywearing as we were off to a local outdoor concert (remember the Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors?!)but this was in the sky....

So it's not like we didn't know we had it coming.
Soaked.
"You look like a wet cat," hubby laughed as we made the loooong walk back to the car in the pouring rain.
I had to ring out my skirt before getting in.
We missed the concert and went to El Taco Real instead.
I wasn't the least bit disappointed.

What an exerience. That storm picture is so scary. Great shot! Glad the evening ended up on a dry note.
ReplyDeleteThat storm picture is insane! Almost looks like a tornado.
ReplyDeleteSometimes a good taco is all you need :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the same concert whenI was in high school
ReplyDeleteThat whole story's pretty awesome. It was the rare mixed tape of mine in the mid-90s that didn't have both those bands on there.
ReplyDeleteFood makes everything better! ;)
ReplyDeleteHA! Sounds a little familiar.... we got stuck in a rain storm on the beach and had to walk about 1/2 mile to the condo!!! Ha!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic of Ivy!
Glad you got your mexican!
How did I not know about this concert? sheesh...
ReplyDeletebut I too love El Taco Real.
yum!
How well I remember those Indiana rain storms! I'm absolutely positive that Indiana rain is wetter than the rain in Colorado. A tasty meal in a warm restaurant was a great consolation.
ReplyDeleteI had that happen before at a ZZ Top concert. We decided it was time to leave when we couldn't see the stage anymore due to the rain and not to mention it was raining so hard it started to hurt. Needless to say my husband, two of our friends and I all had to ride home in our undies!!! No shy people here!
ReplyDeleteI saw them in concert when I was in middle school!
ReplyDeleteSorry you got soaked. But a good mexican dinner does tend to make things better. :-)
Lol, my husband says that to me when we get caught in heavy rain, that I look like a wet cat. I've never heard anyone else say that! =)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good time even if you didn't have the experience you originally thought you would. Sometimes changes of plans are just perfect =)
I am having a 90s flashback to the Spin Doctors and the Gin Blossoms. Good times.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have been caught in rain like that. Once I had to get changed before I could get back in the rental car in Hawaii. It's amazing what nature can do.
Sometimes a change in plans is just a blessing in disguise.
ReplyDeleteScary picture. Sad that you missed the concert though. Man I loved both of those bands.
ReplyDeleteWow, the Gin Blossoms! I think I would like to see them too :) I was really bummed way back when when I realized that the song was called, "Hey Jealousy" instead of "Hey Jessi." Sorry you were rained out.
ReplyDeleteAwe, bummer you missed out.
ReplyDeleteThough this post reminds me that I've been craving tacos!
oh wow. gin blossoms and spin doctors vs. a thunderstorm! rain wins. so do tacos!
ReplyDeletemmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! El Taco Real!! I love it, even more than the concert you missed! I know you had that back up plan from the start!!
ReplyDeleteEl Taco Real, yummy. Getting wet was probably worth that.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of that sling. It looks so comfortable. I need to try some other varieties, because I'm getting tired of the two I have.
ReplyDeleteIvy's eyes are so striking in that photo.
ReplyDeleteThat rain shot is crazy! It rained all day today here.
Glad you guys are ok and had a nice dinner.
Wow, that is one mean looking sky! Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteMan. Gin Blossom and Spin Doctors are like, old news now, right?
ReplyDeleteI really feel old.
Love the carrier.
We have done that before. Once a few years ago we went for ice cream - walking - and got caught in a down pour. We had to turn around and go home. We got changed and then drove to get ice cream. It was funny though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'd say the tacos would win out for me for the night too!
ReplyDeleteSO FUNNY.
ReplyDeletelittle miss can't be wrong...
It's been raining a lot here too. After this rain storm I emptied out a 2/3 full garbage can I'd accidentally left outside. It was gathering a bunch of the water from the roof too but still - 2/3 of a garbage can in less than 24 hours is a bit ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you enjoyed your evening despite the change of plans!
What a cool storm picture! Glad you made the best of this situation!
ReplyDeleteI have one thing to say about this....I LOVE EL TACO REAL. They have the best food and the BEST HOTSAUCE EVAH'
ReplyDeleteEl Taco, El Taco!
Sounds like fun (I love the rain). Was it just you, your husband, and Ivy? :)
