We went to the grocery store and splurged on cherries.
We went for a walk around the neighborhood and counted robins. Then dogs. Then basketball hoops.
Gray told me he wanted to be in front because he didn't want to look at my face. (He did say it politely.) I said he was being a good leader and he agreed. Then he scowled and ran ahead and yelled Stop Following Me!
And I know just what he means.

Ha!! Sounds like a nice day - overall. We love going for walks. We walked to the park today
ReplyDeleteYesterday was a great day for walking and counting. Sometimes I wish I could tell people (politely, even) that I didn't want to look at their faces. It'd make life that much easier.
ReplyDeletei totally get that. gray's pretty right on for me!! =)
ReplyDeletewe went for a walk too! Aiden ran ahead and turned around yelling YOU ARE SLOW! I think him and gray would get along
ReplyDeleteOh cutie! How sweet.
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally understand.
Those sound like things my three year old would say! I'm glad you had a good day :)
ReplyDeleteHey Steph,
ReplyDeleteI totally get it too.
I want to say the same thing at times.
Keep smiling
I loved that, if only we could use Gray's line every once in awhile...
ReplyDeleteI'd love to tell everyone to quit following me once in a while!
ReplyDeleteoh girl...i hear you. hahaha...i could not have said it better. i'm going over and twittering this right now!
ReplyDeleteGray is a wise child!
ReplyDeleteSounds like he and Little Dude would get along well right now. Little Dude is always telling me to "Go A WAY Mommy!" (and not always so nicely). Sigh
ReplyDeletethere is nothing like a walk on a beautiful day, fresh cherries and a wise young man!
ReplyDeleteHA! I can relate. I love how children are so free with their words. My Makenna's favorite: I don't want you to talk to me! {Usually while plugging her ears, and directed at big sis.}
ReplyDeleteI like that! Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a pretty good day, all in all =)
ReplyDeleteOnly a true leader can actually say, "Stop following me!"
ReplyDeleteBravo, Gray.

Kids are so honest. My 8 yr old son was at a skating bday party. I decided to skate too since there was nothing else to do and some of the other moms and dads were. I asked him if he would be embarrassed if I skated and he said "probably". haha
