And things like cute clothes for my kids and family trips to the zoo and so on and so on. And maybe even being able to spread the love and give some things away to you. These things are what I consider wonderful perks to having this space here online.
I try to keep this area neat and tidy with only my deepest thoughts and photos, but all that stuff IS part of my life. And if I'm being really real, in no way is my life neat and tidy like this blog. (Which by the way might be getting a makeover this weekend thanks to Beth. Not to be confused with the blog makeover I won along with a NEW LAPTOP last night. I'll get that makeover at a later date. However, I am so hoping that laptop comes, like, TODAY.)
Anyway. That's the story of my stuff for now.
Thank you so much for being a part of this. It's because of you I won the laptop, it's because of you that I am offered more stuff, and I'm realizing it's because of you that I want to come back here and write everyday.
Not because of the stuff. But because of you.
(I just got teary. True story.)

I have known you for so long now & am so happy that things are going well for you. It isn't always easy, but being a mom of three & owning my own business I can definitely appreciate how hard you work at what you do for others and SO appreciate the time that you give EVERYONE! Make sure to enjoy your day on Sunday~you deserve it...and the laptop!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your blog every day. True story! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning the laptop! I'm so thrilled for you!
ReplyDeleteI do too! true story. LOL
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your wins!! Love coming by and seeing what you are up too ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's the beauty of you, if YOU say it, it is a true story which is WHY we come here and read you everyday.
ReplyDeleteYou work hard for everything you receive, Stephanie. NOTHING has just been given to you.
I enjoy your blog and bravo to you for your stuff!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteAnd Steph, it is because of you and your honesty that we come here to find ourselves, take comfort or receive inspiration. Congrats on the big win!! You more than deserve it my dear!!
ReplyDeleteYou rock plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteSteph, I know there has been a lot of controversy lately about moms and products and will it ruin your blog?
ReplyDeleteI can honestly say that we are THRILLED for you. Thrilled!
And listening to you gush about an efficient, shiny new fridge and a laptop that works lightning fast will be almost as fun as having them ourselves.
Your spirit is infectious, and that's as much a part of every post as the topic of the day.
That's why we're here!
Beth is right. You work hard for all of this--nothing has been given to you. And the best part is that you give back so much! I am so touched by your thinking to get an extra sling and a Coldstone cake for my birthday. Not to mention winning the spa g/c! I came home feeling beyond spoiled last night. Can't wait til we pig out at Oink's!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you won the laptop! More of your lovely family and equally lovely shoes for us in the long run, though, right?
ReplyDeleteRunning a blog takes a lot of time and effort. There is no reason why you can't be compensated in some way. I don't mind at all
ReplyDeleteOh hooray!! A laptop! So good for you!
ReplyDeleteJen
I really enjoy reading about all your stuff. The fun stories you tell of your children and the struggles you sometimes share. I am so exctied for you that you won the laptop! Hope you enjoy all the other stuff that comes your way.

ReplyDeleteNell
you are on a roll! good for you!
ReplyDeleteI am SO EXCITED that you won the laptop!!!!!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteHooray! I'm so glad you won the laptop. You deserve it!!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind when you write about the "stuff." That's part of your life too. And you have a way of making just about anything interesting anyway...
ReplyDeleteStephanie,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all your awesome free stuff, including your new laptop. I'm sure you need it way more than the contest runner-up, a mom who has four kids under 2, one of whom has terminal brain cancer...and who doesn't get free refrigerators, clothes for her kids, and trips to the zoo.
Stephanie, congrats! Really happy for you! -Christine
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, my heart goes out to the family.
ReplyDeleteFrom what it sounds like, I'm not sure a laptop is what they need right now, or people leaving negative comments on the web. Would she want that?
I just entered the contest for fun, there was no where stating someone had to "deserve" it more than the other.
Maybe we could focus this energy on a fundraiser? Something more positive to help this family? Amazing things have been done in the blogosphere and via Twitter, PayPal, etc!
Steph
You make a great point, Steph - stuff IS a part of our lives! And I think it makes perfect sense to talk about it, along with your deepest thoughts. We like reading it all! :)
ReplyDelete(We = your readers, not the royal we. Because I didn't mean it like that...)
How is it even physically possible to have 4 kids under the age of 2 anyway? Oh, I guess they could be quadruplets...
ReplyDelete@Anonymous Nasty Pants,
ReplyDeleteI live in the same community as the family you are talking about. Megan would be horrified at the comment you left on this blog.
And for the record, Brady is doing remarkably well, and nobody is using the word TERMINAL.
Get your facts straight and unbunch your undies.
The new layout looks great. I'm so glad things are going good for you.
ReplyDeleteGreat reply Pamela. "Anonymous Nasty Pants" LOL
Amen Pamela! Lovely response, Steph!
ReplyDeleteI like Pamela's term "@Anonymous Nasty Pants." Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteIn the Jewish tradition (I mean culture, not religion) sharing the good things that happen to you tempt, nay invite, the "Evil Eye." Maybe that's why we Jews complain so much--better to share our tsouris (worries) than our good fortune. The Evil Eye cares not for misfortune.
So next time you share your joy (I'm certainly excited to hear about good things that are happening to my blog buddies), spit, throw salt over your shoulder or add a "kinehorah" or "poo-poo." If nothing else, maybe it will keep mean-spirited commenters away.
Now, I don't "believe" any of this, but the superstitions of my ancestors are ingrained in me, so I have been known to include a "poo-poo" here or there on my blog.
Steph - all good things come from the Heavenly Father - no matter what source He chooses to use. Gifts are unearned... Congratulations!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose who post "anonymously" are doing so with a cowards heart. I would think that if someone were truly passionate about a cause - there would be no reason to hide behind "anonymous".
Although your response was so stinkin' sweet - this tactic (anonymous) is usually specifically used to "cause a stir" and then excitedly read who get's riled - which feeds their small ego... usually best left ignored. (Which is SO HARD TO DO! but which someone who is longing to be empowered by their words - would HATE)... (yep, I'm a mean old coot, for sure! LOL!)
Again, WOO HOO on the blessings!!!
Ummmm . . . last I checked you did not make yourself the winner. Correct?
ReplyDeleteI get crazy stuff every now and then on my blog and it's really nuts. Where do these people come from and don't they have anything better to do with their time?
Wow...I guess if God had wanted someone else to win a laptop, they would have, don't you think? Sorry for your anonymous comment, but I think those who have mentioned the anonymity as cowardice are right on. I'm glad you won, and I'm proud to say I voted for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you handled Anonymous Nasty pants. You have Class! You are well deserving of this. Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteHey girl -
ReplyDeleteEver thought about doing a post on how to make your blog more "popular" so that others may get some of the great opportunites that you have gotten - ie how do you get all this great stuff to try out!?!? I'd love to know! :)
