It's soft and cute and squeaky and looks like a dog toy and everyone knows how much babies love dog toys.
Ivy would rather chew on her toes. Or the smallest piece of fuzz she can find.

Or me. Mostly, she just wants me. Not to gnaw- she's learned not to bite the, ahem, breast that feeds her.
After a while she warmed up to Sophie and went to town on its feet and head. But soon it was in the background and it was I who gave her comfort.
She needs me like I need her. Like air, like water.
And me, I'm just fine with that.

sweet little ivy.
ReplyDeleteFunny how we always think we need to give, give, give to our kids and really - it's the simple things that they are happy with :) Which is fine by me.
ReplyDeleteI could snack on those cheeks all. day. long.
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute. Those cheeks!
ReplyDeleteI hope Levi learns soon not to bite the breast that feeds him. He's getting better...
She's just a beauty. Being a mom is so awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love how much they love.
ReplyDeleteGretchen would much rather nom on my arm/breast/finger than take a paci.
I love it.
We have a Sophie too! It was BJ's and has been chewed, ahem, love ALOT!
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful, that Ivy :)
I ordered Sophie online and Troy could have cared less about her. Made me sad...I would have chewed on that damn giraffe it cost so much!
ReplyDeleteIvy is precious!
It is so sweet to see the bond between you!
ReplyDeleteI get this, the needing, the loving it, and even the chewing.
ReplyDeleteSOO Sweet! Josh is like that. All he needs is me!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. Poor little girl...I guess she's teething? I had thought about buying a Sophie for Gray but he didn't seem to like the teething rings. Maybe I'll get one for Braeden.
ReplyDeleteHow very sweet!! Baby Sister is like that - a mommyaholic so to speak. It is fine with me and even Daddy seems to be getting used to it and not feeling so left out. His turn will come :) The giraffe is really cute though - Baby Sister may need one for her upcoming birthday.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, and so true. I love being the person my daughter comes to every time she needs comfort
ReplyDeleteShe looks like Noah. You are like peas and carrots. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteLizard loves to chew on her toes. She pulls her leg straight back (that's right, no bending required) and goes to town. I'll have to check out that giraffe.
ReplyDeleteLovely post. She's a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet post.
ReplyDeleteI love reading about how much you love and are attached to Ivy. It makes me feel better about how I am with my daughter. Not that I feel like I'm doing anything wrong by holding her almost 24 hours a day but I like knowing that other people are doing it too. :)
