Apparently he saw it on the Weather Channel and there was a sun over Iowa. I saw it! Well, I bet any place is just about as warm as here.
This week's You Capture challenge was (sarcastic laugh) spring. Just two days ago we had snow on the ground.
And you know what's almost harder than scrounging up nice weather where we live this time of year? Getting all four kids together for a decent photo (trial run of their Easter clothes. Hey, that's kinda spring?)

But my favorite photo of all- lying on the cutting room floor until I took a closer look:

Noah trying to put Ivy's hair clip back in her hair. He tried his best, such a wonderful big brother. Maybe no one else can see it but me, since I'm his mother, but there is more spring in that child than a thousand trampolines in May... in him I found it. Spring is here.

Ha ha ha! If only that was the case--although it did feel strangely hotter here today in Iowa than usual, and not in a normal way. Hmmm . . .
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo precious. I love that he was helping... what a wonderful big brother!
ReplyDeleteHearing about how cold it is there, I feel guilty about how bitter I am that I'm allergic to our beautiful Pacific coast spring.
I guess itchy eyeballs are better than Chicago cold.
(btw, i loved this post and i submitted it to kirtsy!)
Cold...brrr! So over it too!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet of him to really work hard with Ivy's hairclippy. Now that's love. :-)
I miss you girl! When the weather gets better, I would love to get together with the kids!
I'm with Noah. Let's go someplace warm. Love the pictures. Your kids are adorable.
ReplyDeleteWe have nothing but rain and mud by us!!! IT is cold and yucky! But that picture is very Spring and brightened my day. I love the hair clip fixing - very cute!!! If Baby Sister ever gets enough hair for clips I have no doubt that Big Brother will be the king of fixing them. :)
ReplyDeletethat is very sweet!
ReplyDeleteI want to go somewhere warm too... it's starting to look like spring outside but it sure doesn't feel like it yet - and we're still burning firewood to keep warm.
This brightened my morning. You are so right about Noah. That is one of my favorite pictures of the 4 of them. Love the outfits.
ReplyDeleteIf that's the case, I'm moving to Iowa yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI love those pictures! Ivy's dress is adorable, and it's so sweet that Noah is trying to put her hair clip back in.
Sending you a BIG ol'bunch of warm SPRING thoughts...hope you can SEE spring soon!!! Love the little ones shot....too sweet!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm giving some thought to moving to Iowa as well! And as for Noah, he's going to make a great husband some day-that's for sure! ;-)
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet big brother!!!
ReplyDeletegreat pic of all four!! that is a hard one to capture!! it should be a theme of it's own! i can never seem to get all four of mine to look or atleast semi look at the camera!!
Absolutely precious!
ReplyDeleteEaster clothes DEFINITELY = spring :)
ReplyDeleteI love the smile in the background.
ReplyDeleteThat's really beautiful. There's just something so wonderful about little boys...little girls too of course, but it's like we're programmed not to expect it in little boys.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots.
ReplyDeleteI am so done with this cold wet weather.
hate to break it to him, but we are supposed to get rain & snow today here in Cedar Falls, IA!
ReplyDeletesomeday we'll be warm again. ;0)
Aww. Such a good big brother.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow yesterday. I thought it was a pretty mean April Fool's Day joke.
Hurry up, Spring!!!
What a sweet big brother!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet shots!:)
ReplyDeleteTheir clothes and smiles scream "Spring" - Love it!!
ReplyDeletegood take on Spring pictures...and the one of all four is a framer. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the second one too, very sweet of him!
That is so cute!! I love that she is surrounded by boys ... and love.
ReplyDeleteHope it warms up soon!
I think his wanting to fix his sister's hair is adorable, but what took me is Carter's look of pride, holding his sister. Look at that grin!!!
ReplyDeleteWe, too, are finding it hard to embrace spring at the moment. Amidst a storm at the moment, which is all bark with no bite, rattling our windows, tickling our electricity to flicker on and off, driving me batty with the on/off/on/off and whether I should light candles and keep them lit, since it's as dark as night out there.. terribly hard to embrace spring.
But it's coming. Warm weather is coming. I can't wait to feel it on my skin.
It's comin', Noah.
I think Noah and I are kindred spirits because he watched The Weather Channel. I would totally take a vacation to Iowa with him.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. I know it is so much colder where you are, but i too wish for spring to arrive. the 50's sound balmy right now.
ReplyDeletewas gray getting reading to do something onry? lol he looks onry to me. haha

ReplyDeletelittle Ivy is blessed to have such a great big brother! they all look really sweet in their Easter clothes - and, yes, as far as I'm concerned we can count that as spring :O). thanks for posting. i really enjoy everyone's photos :O).

ReplyDeleteWay to look beyond...
Aww, this made me smile...and then the sun came out!
ReplyDeleteThis is the WORST spring. But that one of Noah with the hair clip -- priceless!
ReplyDeleteNice spring shots. They are adorable.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet are they?!? Great shots!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I always want to head to Kansas now... because Kansas has the coolest hair.
ReplyDelete(And if you don't know what I'm talking about, run to your local library and check out The Scrambled States of America. Because that book is funny.)
Aw, what a sweetie. So giving. :)
ReplyDeleteso cute! what a good big brother.
ReplyDeleteNow that is adorable that he was trying to put her hairclip back in! I see we both have a love for the hair accessory!

How adorable that he wants to help!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that you don't have more spring there. We are only, what, like 3 hours south and it is very green and lush in the Indy area now. The magnolias are budding, the bushes are filling in and lots of spring flowers everywhere. I'm sure it's just around the corner for you then too!
Isn't great what moms can see in their children! Great shots. Good luck getting all into a photo!
ReplyDeleteWell that is great because it was sunny in Iowa but it was still real cold. Even though my kids did make it outside to swing on the tree swing.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet, cuter yet was your little boy behind them, still grinning for the camera!
ReplyDeleteSweet. I used to love Easter clothes for my kids, Easter is my favorite time of year.
What a beautiful picture of all those kids.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great big brother! The bright outfits and the resplendent faces were springy enough for me!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
MommyWizdom
What a sweet big brother!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Steph! What a gift your kiddos are, and a gift you are as their mama! -Christine
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful tribute to your oldest boy! There's something special and "dear to the heart" about the oldest child, isn't there? But then again there's something endearing about each subsequent one too...
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is terrific. I'm impressed that they're all looking at the camera at the same time! I can barely manage that feat in our house...and I only have two little ones!
