We had a photo session recently for a contest coming up that I can't wait to tell you all about, and later the amazing photographer sent me this note-"After hearing you talk about her spirit (which by the way was the sweetest thing I may have ever heard) - this photo just has a different meaning. I caught her in an in between moment of a laugh and a look. She has her eyes closed, and she's so happy. She looks like she telling a funny story to us, and it's the funniest thing she's ever heard.
Often times I'll end up with shots like this from a session. Ones that don't make the cut, but ones that I'll still just email to the parents. (Like when a boy pulls his pants off in the middle of the session and comes charging at me full force! Those don't make the session gallery, but how can you toss memories like that! LOL)
Yes, she has her eyes half closed. Yes, the focus is a bit off because I think she was discovering that the basket could rock. But, I couldn't toss this one. I just love it!
I hope you do, too."

She's beautiful, Steph. I love that the photographer captured a moment that's not usually frameworthy, but is special in its own way. I can't wait to see more photos!
ReplyDeleteShe is so adorable!! I LOVE that outfit too!
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute! I love photos that have a further meaning to them than what one thinks. It makes them more special then.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when a photographer 'gets' spirit, not just shooting.
ReplyDeleteI love her look and she reminds me of You. That's very nice of the photographer to share these moments.

ReplyDeletei love that not only does the photographer recognize moments like that, but shares them with her clients. what a fun capture, what a beautiful little girl. she really does embody joy in that shot!
ReplyDeleteSometimes my very favorite photos are the outtakes.
ReplyDeleteThat's priceless. Photos like that are the absolute best. I could fill a whole book full of them, and they would almost mean more than the "perfect" shots that we also treasure. Love it!

ReplyDeletePrecious! Even if blurry, she's adorable!
ReplyDeleteSo cute and that's great that the photographer sees the beauty in the moments and not just the ones that make the cut.
ReplyDeleteI love how she's pointing her finger, like she's daring you NOT to laugh with her! What a beautiful shot, imperfections aren't REALLY imperfections!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could dress like Ivy. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been away from bloggy land too long...look how Ivy has grown! She is so beautiful.

This is a great photo. I love her expression in it, priceless.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo! If that one didn't make the cut, then I can only imagine what the other photos look like. They must be absolutely stunning! I hope you share some of them.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have such fabulous people photographing your family all the time. The one of you and Ivy up there on the left corner of your page is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't noticed before how much she looks like Gray. But with those pictures of him just above this one it's easy to see the resemblance in their eyes. So cute!
How awesome that the photographer thought so much to send you that shot! She's so cute! And she does look like she's telling a funny story.
