This morning I was horrified to find that Noah has been walking around with a HOLE IN HIS SHOE. Now, I know I can be dramatic so it's not like there are toes sticking out or anything, but still. How is it that I did not know? As soon as he gets off the bus today I am taking him to pick out whatever shoes his little heart desires.
Oh, and seeing as how I am everywhere and everything today, I'm also here where guilt tastes just like a birthday cupcake.

Oh man. That "hole in the shoe" thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. My boy complains because the sky is blue and the grass is green. Why he didn't complain about a REAL problem is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteMy 7yr. old didn't tell me his indoor shoes at school were wearing through. I saw them at a parent-teacher interview and all the toes were through. They were practically sandals! I was mortified! Kids are funny sometimes!

ReplyDeleteMy son's feet had grown and his toes were all squished into his shoe and I felt so guilty because I didn't know. I bought a new pair and he got a surprised look on his face and said "mama these don't hurt". That's right son, heap on the guilt. Don't know how long they hurt but apparently so long that he thought it was normal.
Hope your day calms down a little.
Oh, my sweet little Noah. And I almost asked him if he wanted new shoes for his birthday, for real! And who says stay at home moms have it made?

ReplyDeleteYikes, glad you caught the shoe thing before the toes came out. I, on the other hand, did not. Short Man had a shoe that had 2 toes coming out of it and the sole was half off. How could I not know??? Easy. He is a 10 year old boy who only holds still when he is sleeping. As soon as I found out about the shoe we went shopping. LOL

ReplyDeleteI'm just juggling 2 right now, and still working part-time away from home, and there are many days that I feel like I'm being stretched in 10 different directions! Whew! Hang in there!

1- you were putting drops in one kid's ear (which is an all-consuming and NOISY task in and of itself,)
2- you were consulting on a construction project, and probably without a hard hat;
3- you were cooking while running up and down the stairs (fire hazard?)
4- you were activating your mammary glands.
Honey, there's only so much one woman can do!!
He'll be fine. Don't worry!
