I still have my Christmas tree up. Even googled for ideas if I leave it up all year.
And I am still untangling the yarn for some socks I'm about to knit. It's been days now.
Ivy has slept through the night since the day she was born. So I feel all sorts of weird when people say I have the excuse to look so ragged until the baby is sleeping through the night.
Did I just spell ragged right? I meant it like rag-edd. But it looks like bagged and we don't say bag-edd. Or do we?

I think about words too much.
I realized that I never pointed out that at the Method party Ivy and I wore matching Shabby Apple dresses.
I was in the 90 wpm dress and she in the 45 words per minute.
When I think of what I want to wear to BlissDom I think I'd like to just wear all Shabby Apple dresses.
I am not a big fan of eating apples unless they are baked. Or covered in caramel and stuff.
I'll eat pretty much anything covered in caramel.
Unless it was gross.
I have a box of barbecued larvets that Jenny (The Bloggess) sent me. They look like really big dried worms or fat fingers. I hope she didn't really expect me to eat them.
I would half-consider it if they they were covered in chocolate.
I'm getting a hair cut next week and I'm at the exact post-partum time that I usually chop it all off.
If I could afford it I actually would love to try extensions to make my hair even longer.

Yes, definitely.... pierce the nose.
ReplyDeleteIf my job allowed me, I would pierce mine, too! Your cute little nose could pull it off. ;) My theory is- only pierce or tattoo it if you like it enough to have people staring at it. So my bellybutton (surrounded by stretchmarks) is out!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the nose piercing... and I LOVE those dresses. I had never thought of the fact that the girls and I could dress 'alike' at some point. Wow!
ReplyDeleteand hilarious about the Carmel and chocolate...
britt
Let's get our noses pierced together (apart). I had mine done before children and looking back at the pictures, I get all nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Friday, Steph.
A teeny tiny nose piercing would be fabulous. I definitely think that you can pull it out!
ReplyDeleteI heart Shabby Apple the most!
ReplyDeleteI am amazed you find the time to knit...lol!! And I think you'd look cute with a nose ring!I couldn't though, I always have issues with what happens when you have a really runny nose.....?
ReplyDeleteFun tag!
Randomness is such a wonderful thing.
ReplyDeleteI would totally do the nose piercing if I were you - you can pull it off. Me....not so much.
I'm jealous that Ivy started STTN at birth. My boy has been STTN for a while now - it's quite nice and now that I've said that, he'll be up 10 times tonight...lol
I'm all over this when I get home this afternoon :)
since she was born?!?! oh, you lucky woman! but, seriously, you've got a lot going on, even if you are getting a full night's sleep!
ReplyDeleteI love my nose bling! and if you want someone to hold your hand while you go, I'm there!
ReplyDeleteWhat? she is sleeping through the night? Wow, I am so jealous..did all your kids, or just Ivy? any secrets?
ReplyDeleteI saw the title and then the first item, and I thought, "How could she hang Easter eggs from a nose ring?"
ReplyDeleteSa-weet! Thanks for the tag! I will totally play, that was fun!
ReplyDeleteIt seriously sounded like my mind, every day. A mile a minute. Love it!!!!!
Dresses- supercute!
BTW, caramel and chocolate - superyum!
Oh, please, I beg of you as your mother...please don't pierce your nose. I crindge when I look at pierced noses...I think because I have gone thru so much with my nose surgeries in the past and it is so sensitive. I don't know how people blow their noses.....And as for the tree still up, so is mine! I started decorating mine with red heart ornaments and it looks great. I'm gonna see if I can leave it up all year, but mine is a small one. If you need help taking yours down, I would be glad to help you. I loved those matching dresses.
ReplyDeleteStephanie, I shit you not, I had a dream LAST NIGHT that you cut your hair much shorter.
ReplyDeleteSo, cut your hair and get the damn nose ring. SMFD.
I want to get a little tiny diamond nose piercing too, but everyone thinks I'm crazy.
ReplyDeleteI love nose piercings. I had mine pierced but had to take it out when I was pregnant and it got infected. I'm looking forward to getting it redone though. Hopefully soon!
ReplyDeleteOh and take down the freakin' tree for the love of pete.
ReplyDeleteSteph~
ReplyDeleteHi it's Michelle's friend Jen! Ok so 2 things...
~I still have my Christmas tree up but my husband says it is time to let it go, whatev!
~I need to buy a sling that is not $70, any ideas?
Email me if you get a chance at
juboomer@aol.com
Thanks!
Jen
You should totally get a nose ring. You've got the perfect nose for it. I have a teeny one. So teeny you can barely see it in photos.
ReplyDeleteyou crack me up :) and yes I think a tiny stud would be adorable on you...I have always wanted one
ReplyDeleteGo for the piercing! I wanted to leave my tree up all year too... Can't wait to see pics of the new 'do!
ReplyDeleteI have often thought about piercing my nose, love a tiny little stud in there. Do it.
ReplyDeleteAnything covered in chocolate -- yep and caramel -- double yep -- chocolate and caramel?? oh it's killing me, no sugar until my birthday in February. eek!
love the dress. If I were going to Blissdom I would have to get a cute Shabby Apple dress also. Love those!
You could pull it off, for sure. Silly Steph!
ReplyDeleteI'm voting for you to do it!
ReplyDeleteWhile I was reading this, I thought...that's awesome..she is just as random as I am. Her brain is all over the place just like mine is.
ReplyDeleteBut then I got to the end and realized you were supposed to be random.... :-(
Curious as to what you came up with about the Christmas tree. Not that mine is still up, but just curious.
ReplyDeleteAnd Ivy has always slept through the night??? Dang. You're one lucky Momma!
Pierce the nose.
ReplyDeleteDon't eat the larvets.
Boo to cooked apples.
Heads up - I passed on an award to you... Thank you for your writing.
ReplyDeleteThis post had me laughing. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post!!! Ha! Funny and random, but so cute! And you could TOTALLY pull off the nose ring! Go for it...if you don't like it, you can always take it out, right?!
ReplyDeleteFun post! not sure about the piercing - have fun deciding :) And your dresses are super sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tag - i had been online but not to my reader yet, and couldn't figure out why i was getting traffic from you :) I just posted a random meme earlier this week - good stuff!
I am in love with those dresses! I'm bookmarking that site and the next time I need a dress I'll have to get one :)
ReplyDelete...and secretly I would love to get a tiny nose piercing as well...
i say PIERCE IT!! hmmm, am i too old to pierce mine too??
ReplyDeletexo,
erika
You don't have to get professional extenstions anymore. You can go to places like Sally Beauty Supply and buy clip in ones. I wear them everyday and love them. They sell them in almost every color and they are super easy to put it. If i can do it im sure anyone can. They are around 80.00 for about 8 pieces. You can wear as many as you like depending on how thick you want your hair to look. Seriously try them out..they RULE!!!
ReplyDeleteKara
Beautiful dresses! I use to sew a lot - I made Big Brother's bedding by hand. Baby Sister's blanket is still not done - and she is four month old and also sleeping through the night. :)
ReplyDeleteOh be careful saying the baby sleeps through the night! Mine did too for the first few months, then stopped and she gets up at least once now. But I know what you mean about the people telling you its okay to look unkempt (like how I avoided the other word?) because the baby isn't sleeping when she is. (Well, I used to know anyway.)
ReplyDeletelol those are great random thoughts, I love randomness..and learning more about someone else's thoughts. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment today, does your DAD like the slanket, my kids both want one...lol
I've often thought how nice it would be to have a big closet to stick the Christmas tree in and then just take it out again. Does it hurt to get your nose pierced? I'm not much for pain.
ReplyDeleteokay, hi! thanks for the tag! i am playing along on my blog, so ch-ch-check it out.
ReplyDeletealso, Jen up above me there, that's the aunt that didn't get my text message yesterday!
http://purduefans.blogspot.com/2009/01/traveling-is-causing-me-anxiety.html
My Christmas tree is in its box in my dining room waiting to be hauled into my cellar! That's all I'm admitting to...
ReplyDeleteI admit to ordering new clothes for Blissdom. I'm such a slave to fashion.
ReplyDeleteYou don't look the LEAST bit ragg-ED. :-) I have never tried Shabby Apple. Going over now to peruse. :-)
ReplyDeleteI want to get my nose pierced, too!! I think it's just the cutest thing EVER. As soon as my "church pianist" gig is over, I think I'll try to convince my husband that I would be smokin' hot with one. Or at least a little bit cuter.
ReplyDeleteMmmm . . . I'm thinking that those baked apples and caramel sound really good . . .
ReplyDeleteI know I'v said it before but I could have written this post! I also want to get a tiny nose piercing but haven't 'cause I think teachers with nose rings are frowned upon, I chopped my hair at 3 months post partum and again at 5 months, and I am in LOVE with Shabby Apple! Fun post!
ReplyDeleteI just chopped all my hair off as well. I just couldn't decide what to do with it so there it went HA!
ReplyDeleteI bet you and Ivy looked adorable in those dresses :)
Do you know if there's a way to connect up with others going to BlissDom - I've been considering it and was hoping to share a room.. but just don't know where to find others who may be interested. Any ideas? :)
ReplyDeleteI have my nose pierced and LOVE it, do it!
ReplyDeleteI think you would look great with that piercing, you have the cutest nose! And, as for the Christmas tree, we were at our friends last night and they had their tree still up too. They said their son likes it (he's 4 months old) and he likes staring at the glowing lights and it soothes him, so they just left it up. Hey, whatever works for ya!
ReplyDeleteOk, just my $.02.
xo
I still have my garland up. I have not had a haircut in about 8 months. And, Gus slept through the night for the first time last night. Hooray because he and I both have ear infections.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I am with the nose piercing. No eyebrow or belly.
One of my friends had this teeny nose piercing. It looked like a piece of glitter got stuck on her nose. It was awesome.
ReplyDeletePS. There are children starving in Africa and you are letting barbecued bugs just go to waste. For shame.
I JUST took down my Christmas tree last weekend...I blogged about it. I only took it down because my husband made me. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so relieved you explained about the 16 things meme because...GIRL!..I was sorta starting to think you drank the "special kool-aid" with the stream of consciousness thing you had going on. But I loved learning new and very funny thing about you. Don't get your nose pierced yet, it'll give us a bonding experience in Chicago...which would be me WATCHING you get your nose pierced!
ReplyDeleteI love Shabby Apple dresses. I don't own any, but I have drooled over them plenty! Can you nurse in it easily? That's my problem with dresses these days. Anyway, love the list. You remind me so much of myself in a lot of ways!
ReplyDelete(OH yes, and Alice has been sleeping through night since she was born too, though I try to keep it a secret so no one knows how "easy" I have it, shhhh.)
The nose piercing would totally fit you. I want to pierce my lip, but too many that say they don't like it. Unfortunately the only one that matters anything to me is my husband.
ReplyDeleteI think you would look adorable with a nose piercing. It makes me jealous.. I wish I could get facial piercings!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm drooling over the Shabby Apple maternity dresses right now.
We just put our Christmas tree away this past weekend. Actually, my husband took it down, while I watched our 2-year-old daughter (who inevitably wanted to be right in the middle of it all).
ReplyDeleteI love apples - plain or baked or whatever. Mmmm...
And I can't believe you have barbecued larvae. That is so gross. I'm glad I'm not in my first trimester right now...I would definitely be gagging at the mere thought of it.
This was a fun, totally random post. I love your writing style.
Well, I pierced my nose years ago and love it. Highly recommend. Plus in its origin, in Bangladesh anyway, it signifies you're married. Much more permanent than a ring...but maybe get a diamond on it. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd love the dresses!
I love those Shabby Apple dresses and yours is especially cute! But, with the high necklines, I want to know how you nurse in it. I'd love to buy one, but want to make sure there's easy access! :)
