That is so true. I think that is why Attachment Parenting makes so much sense to me -- it is how God parents. You're being worn...we just sometimes forget it. ((((hugs)))))
Just found your blog, and LOVE it! I also wanted to know about whatyour favorite carrier is. There are so many to choose from, and some of them can be a little pricey. My baby is 6 months right now, and I have the Ultimate baby wrap which I am not loving. It has too much material and he sags in it. Any suggetions for a better one?
I'm SOOOO with you right now. Our little guy arrived with lots of drama thanks to being at a wrong angle on January 7th. He's great. I'm dealing with severe complications and trying to stay out of the hospital. He wants to be held all the time. So do I. Holding him and caring for him while I'm feeling like this makes me appreciate how God always holds us and cares for us so much more. And when my little guy squirms as I learn how to use a sling, it makes me wonder about my own squirming when God is trying to hold me.
thanks for sharing this.....a rather impatient-for-healing redhead needed to hear another mom's heart today
There's no place that I'd rather be. I'm currently going thru my first Army deployment and have 3 little ones. I'm only getting thru it b/c of God's "attachment parenting". My daily desire is to be held by Him! Thanks for this perspective.
That was very lovely. Sounds like you've had a few rough days what with the bad weather-here's to hoping the weather gets better so the boys can go out and run off some energy :)
That is so cute and precious! I completely agree. I'm quite a touchy-feely person, and I know that my Heavenly Father is there, but there have been many times when I just wanted to be wrapped up in a great big hug by Him :)
Can you tell me a little about babywearing? You would think with 6 kiddos I would have some experience with this by now! I looked at some slings at Babies R' Us and online. Any insider suggestions?
I LOOOVE it when you do a post like this. Short and profound, moving and lovely. I find I use far too many words to say things sometimes. Beautiful post!
I love this post. I so often hear from non AP people about God's tough side so it's really nice to be reminded of His loving parenting of us. Makes me want to just curl up and let Him hold me.
What a wonderful thought! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely Stephanie. What a great perspective.
ReplyDeleteoh amen to that one. I woke up grumpy, so lots of holding by my heavenly father would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteI think you are being worn by God everyday. You just don't realize it...

If it is a hard day you are definitely being worn. Just think of the footprints poem. This is very beautifully put. God Bless!!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Steph. I NEED to be worn everyday. Problem is, I keep getting down. Thankfully, He will pick me up EVERY time I ask or draw near! Great post!

What a word of encouragement. Something I really needed today as I sat at home with my sick baby missing church. :( Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWell said, mama. I, too, think that my relationship with Christ is the reason APing has resonnated with me.

ReplyDeleteI know this isn't what this post is about at all so forgive me, but... your jewelry is amazing.
ReplyDelete(I would have typed this in teeny tiny letters to approximate whispering if blogger allowed such things.)
That was very lovely. Sounds like you've had a few rough days what with the bad weather-here's to hoping the weather gets better so the boys can go out and run off some energy :)
ReplyDeleteWe are so very much on the same wavelength, my friend :)

ReplyDeleteHoping you feel His arms around you today!
Oh that's a good thought. Lately I've been wanting my mommy to hold me and make me some soup. God would do an even better job!
ReplyDeleteI want to be held everyday!!!
ReplyDeleteHey there,
ReplyDeleteIvy is beautiful as always...
Can you tell me a little about babywearing? You would think with 6 kiddos I would have some experience with this by now! I looked at some slings at Babies R' Us and online. Any insider suggestions?
Beautiful
ReplyDeleteAll you need do is ask... and what a beautiful way to do it by reminding each of us the power of God...
ReplyDeleteLovely thought. :)

ReplyDeleteYeah, that's an awesome image!! And if He could put me down for a nap that would be much appreciated as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. And yes, I could use to be worn right now, too.
ReplyDeleteAh! I'd like to be worn too. :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm ... so true. We all need to be held, one of the reasons we parent the way we do.
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time babywearing in the snow this weekend. Pictures on my blog and at my daughter's

ReplyDeleteWatch it.
Very sweet thoughts...
ReplyDeleteOh, me too!!! My baby was always so at peace when I was wearing him. It made all of life's worries go away! I just love that thought!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet and comforting thought. A friend of mine made a similar statement to me the other day. Guess God really wants me to feel it. :-)
