But it did make me think. About a lot of things. I was glad my mind wasn't somewhere else and that I wasn't distracted with my phone or CD player.
My hubby stayed home today.
I definitely have super-woman syndrome, but it's not because I feel like I have to wear a cape. It's because I want to do these things like bake cookies and give a zillion percent of myself to everyone and every thing. It really does make my heart happy.
There's just so much that a human body can do. I get that.
(ducking) I did make 10 dozen cookies today.
But now I'm resting. It's a good thing. It's replenishing.
And just might be the only way I can have more of myself to give.

Steph... Thank God it was a narrow miss.
ReplyDeleteThat is all. Just, I'm glad you're ok.
I'm glad everyone's okay.
ReplyDeleteAnd that roundabout is the highest order of stupid, they spent the money, they should have at least done it RIGHT!
Yay....for resting, you are right...the only way to give more is to take some time for yourself. BTW I ordered the Baby K'tan wrap that was on Mama Speaks...thanks for that!
ReplyDeleteI hope you didn't have the babies with you when that happened!
ReplyDeleteFeel better!
Not you too? I made cookies today also, even though I am trying to rest as well.
ReplyDeleteOh, missed that about the roundy. I don't get what the big deal is, why people can't get it, but maybe that is just the problem. Gald you are safe!
ReplyDeleteJen
Good for you on the rest and the miss of the accident! Those almost moments can be humbling sometimes but darn scary!
ReplyDeleteAck! So glad it was a near-miss, so sorry it happened!
ReplyDeleteRest, rest, rest
You made cookies, I ate cookie dough...good times..
Many blessings!
Rest up!
ReplyDeleteRest and Relax and don't feel the need to post, we will all be here reading when you get back.
ReplyDeleteJenn
10 dozen! Wow! I made 3 dozen Oatmeal Raisin cookies this afternoon with my 2-year-old...and they turned out just right. We're going to go "deliver"a few plates to our neighbors within the hour. They're disappearing quick!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are doing ok. I try to be super woman too...because I want to get those things done. Not because I need to be one. :) Hope you get some rest now that the cookies are done.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I want to come over and eat a couple dozen of those cookies! :)
ReplyDeleteNell
that round-a-bout is the silliest thing they've done in that town in quite some time. the light seemed just fine. :)
ReplyDeleteglad you're okay, and way to go on the cookies! bet they are yummy!
We have a bunch of roundabouts out where I live, they drive me crazy. You're right, people sometimes barrel through them, when it is NOT their turn to go. Grrrr.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you were safe.
Your house must have smelled so wonderful all day long...YUM!
Oh, I'm glad it was a miss on the car wreck. I'm also glad he's able to bear some of the burden, even it means he's enabling you to bake 10 dozen cookies. (None of which, I note, you're offering to send to me.)
ReplyDeleteglad to hear that your resting too:-)
ReplyDeleteHow frightening! I was almost in an accident on our way home from Thanksgiving. The car in front of me did a 180 and literally slid past the front of our car and crashed into the cement wall on the side of the road. I couldn't stop shaking for nearly an hour.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will get some rest tonight!
Glad you are ok - have fun baking, I'm hoping to get started tomorrow :) Take care
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to have just found my kitchen under a week's worth of mess. You are super-woman! Glad you're safe.
ReplyDeleteSo glad nothing bad happened. And jelous of your cookie skills. I have made 7 different batches of sugar cookies in hopes of using the vast collection of cookie cutters I own. However, they all come out tasking like ANYTHING but cookie...let alone sugar cookies....
ReplyDeleteSo, my awesome cookie cutter collection gets used on play dough a lot....maybe someday I will learn the secret...:) Take care and rest!
You have an angel on your shoulder.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all are safe, and that you somehow found the energy to make those cookies! Now please do take a break and rest a little... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with super-woman syndrome, for the exact same reason... I don't want to wear a cape but it makes me happy to give of myself to others!
ReplyDeleteHi There! Just found your blog and love it :) Good for you for taking a time out :) and even better that you can bake 10 dozen cookies, I can't make cookies anymore because I end up eating the dough..lol.. :) Have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteMesa
What kind of cookies did you bake? 10 dozen is a lot! How many cookies did your helpers eat?
ReplyDeleteThose roundabouts or traffic mitigation devices are installed because of that truck driver who goes fast and doesn't yield the right of way. Maybe a stop sign might be better.
Glad you are safe!
ReplyDeleteI used to be like that. Then I let the desire for that, go. I have found the true joy they say is in life. It's pretty cool.
