I Can See Clearly Now

It's so frustrating when you don't feel like yourself and you totally know it and just want to be back to normal, or at least your own sense of normal, again.

I think I'm back.

The past few days have been so much better. I feel like a better Mom. A better person.

I have still not made it to the bottom of the laundry pile and have so much to do ahead of me, but it all doesn't seem so large after all.

This is the third time I've tried to write this because our power keeps going out.

I think I'll get back to this. (See photo.)

Life is so good.

P.S. I'd love your input over here today!

  6. Don't worry about laundry. And I'm glad you're feeling better. I keep going back and forth. Yesterday I would have said I was out of the funk. Today I want to go back to bed.

Regardless, those are the BEST cheeks ever. They really are. Are they growing?:)

  7. Look at those cheeeeeks!

I'm glad you're getting back to your own sense of normal. Being sick with a newborn can't be easy.

  12. When you get to the bottom of the laundry pile it triggers something to generate more laundry. One thing I used to do with Terry was to make sugar cookies and let him "paint" them with some evaporated milk with a little food coloring. Another time Terry had injured his eye and had to have both eyes blindfolded for several days. We played a game where he would feel an object, toy, etc. and figure out what it was without seeing it. That's educational too since later I found out it was part of the testing done before kindergarten.

  13. I have a little trick when I seem to have insurmountable things to accomplish and it works every time... I give myself a time limit (like 5 minutes or 20 minutes or 1 hour or whatever I set), then I set about doing as much as I can in that amount of time. I usually do random things... in no particular order... just "things." It is inevitable that when the time is up, I am so happy with my accomplishments that I continue for a bit more time. BUT... I have also completely quit after my TIME limit! Maybe I'm just kinda competitive, but you might find it fun to try this... ! And I'm glad you're "back." That is a nice feeling...

  15. Glad you're feeling better! I went through that several times during the first year with my son, and I'm struggling to remember that this clingy, teething phase he's in right now (he's 12 months) will pass as well. Adorable picture, as always! :)

  20. Oh my goodness, love those cheeks. I am glad things are beginning to return to normal. We haven't seen the bottom of our hampers in years, but life continues on :) I am sorry about your power outage. So far (knock on wood) things have been still running smoothly here, but I have refused to go outside because it is so cold.

    Stay warm, Steph!!
