i really like this, but i have to say i would LOVE it if there was no religious component. i think it would have more universal appeal if it was geared toward everyone, rather than just christians. :-) just my opinion.
I pretty much just commented on 5mfm about the gross over spending and how we've gotten so far away from the meaning of Christmas. This video says it even better.
And the Black Friday madness makes me cringe. I understand wanting a good deal but when people die because of the (what I see as...) greed it just makes me so so deeply sad.
Great video. Personally for my family its all about the family. We do family homemade gifts, we do family homemade christmas crafts, we do family caroling, we do family cooking, we do family parades... It's all about the family and us remembering the reason for the season. JESUS.. Happy Birthday Jesus. We love you and thank you for letting us share in this special day with you with our families!!!!
I almost put this one on my blog yesterday! It's such a great video. Thank you for sharing it.
Christmas can be such madness when it comes to spending. I love the idea for your kids of buying only four things and spreading them out over the Holidays. Something they WANT, something they NEED, something to WEAR, and something to READ. And that's IT. Four even seems like a lot of me, but we end up getting so much more than that in the end. This is such a good way to cut back and focus on specific things. Just thought I'd share :)
that was awesome!
ReplyDeleteI had that on my blog a few days ago too. It's sooo true!
ReplyDeleteGreat video and oh so true!
ReplyDeletei'm not religious per se, but the message in that video is awesome. less consumerism & presents. more giving presence, love & life. :)
