Carter had a field trip to the zoo and came bounding off the bus excited to tell me about the lions! And they had bald eagles but they looked like REGULAR eagles! And they even had a goat! But the most exciting thing (and his most detailed story of all) was when Katrina threw up on the bus.
Did she get it on anyone?
No- they have equipment to clean that up, he told me matter of factly. They sprinkled a can and it sucked it away! Then we ate our sack lunch.
Good to know.
How totally adorable is it the things that stick in kid's minds?
ReplyDeleteGlad he was still able to eat his lunch! :)
Eww... lol. Then they ate their sack lunch. To funny what really sticks in their minds.
ReplyDeleteUm, wow. There are days it is not good to be a teacher. The days you have to clean up the puke...those are the bad days.
ReplyDeleteAt least he saw a goat!
Love,
Jess
That's a super funny story...especially that they just ate their lunches after!
ReplyDeleteWow... I had no idea there was something that made puke magically disappear. I too am flabbergasted that they were able to follow that up with lunch ;)
ReplyDeleteI totally need to get that piece of equipment! That's amazing.
ReplyDeleteWell I am glad they could eat there lunch afterwords.... Love the story. Very funny.
ReplyDeleteDawn
The things that are memorable to kids, glad he shared!!!
ReplyDeleteToo funny. I love that they casually just ate their sack lunches after that. Glad I wasn't on that trip!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! Gross, but funny :)
ReplyDeleteThat's too cute...but I would SO not be able to eat lunch after that!
ReplyDeletei love the highlight of his day :) gross, but funny!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter had a field trip where someone wet their pants...that was ALL she remembered of the whole day. Glad to know that field trip money was well spent.
ReplyDeleteI need me some of the magic can sprinkle...I wonder if it works on messy bedrooms.
Ahhhhh! Isn't there always one child that pukes on the bus? Seriously! Thank goodness the "equipment" saved the day!
ReplyDeleteThe fact that the kids didn't let a little puke ruin their lunch just goes to show that sometimes, as adults, we tend to sweat the small stuff a little too much!
:)
ReplyDeleteHe may remember Katrina throwing up for the rest of his life. I had a field trip to the zoo in first grade and the lion lifted his leg at the fence and peed on my teacher, who was a nun. I remember it like it was yesterday.
LOL, that gets them everytime! At least he was able to have lunch after that!
ReplyDeleteI am cracking up @ little Carter Bear . . . he's a RIOT! Nothing kills our appetite! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove him,
Aunt Diane
Nothing more exciting than vomit on a bus before lunch... !! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThat was a full day!
ReplyDeleteewwwwwwwww. And then they ate! Only kids. LOL
ReplyDeleteWith boys you will never ever be bored - grossed out maybe but never bored!
ReplyDeleteoh, i love it. the most random (and gross) things are always the most fun for them. =)
ReplyDeleteI STILL remember clearly the day in first grade when a guy named Brian Comments raised his hands and barely made it to the trashcan before throwing up. I vowed that day to NEVER be the kid who threw up in front of everyone. First grade--scars us for life!
ReplyDeleteTotally gross. What is it with kids and vomit?
ReplyDeleteOh, the things you can learn from a little one!
ReplyDeleteHuh. I need some of that equipment for flu season!
ReplyDeleteI still remember when kids threw up at school when I was a kid. That stuff sticks in my mind for some reason.
We've come so far in so many ways. It's good to know that the throw up cleaning method is still the same.
ReplyDeleteNot much has changed in 20 years! I have a very similar story! Yucky!
ReplyDeleteI chaperoned a group of first graders to the zoo, and at the elephant exhibit, one went to the bathroom. Well, that's all they talked about and, during a class assignment, wrote about as well. It's amazing what kids "love"!
ReplyDeleteAmy
Someone threw up on Hunter's field trip last week too. Only I was there. Good thing he wasn't in MY group!
ReplyDeleteBless his little heart for being able to eat after that. I think I would have hurled right there. I am definitely a sympathetic vomiter! : ) Michelle
ReplyDeleteUgh, choke, cough, blech. I'm glad he could eat his lunch. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to eat mine now! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I could have used some of that this past weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOL, that is pretty funny that was what impressed him the most from his trip.
ReplyDeletelol so glad it didn't phase him!
ReplyDeleteLOL Well, it is pretty cool. I want some of that during flu season.
ReplyDeleteI had a student throw up in my classroom during state testing (who doesn't want to throw up during a test?), but we did not have equipment to clean it up. Gross.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I don't think I'd be so much eating the sack lunch after that. Kids are too funny!
ReplyDeleteHa! I love hearing Bubbie's version of stories!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love boys! What a cute story... er... I guess!
ReplyDeleteI gotta get me some equipment like that!! : )
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute...
Uhh...yeah...that stuff is called Vo-Ban. (There's some other stuff too, but I can't remember what it is called) It really does "suck it up".
ReplyDeleteThat's my Carter! He is one of a kind...love him.
ReplyDeleteinteresting and gross!
ReplyDeleteI used to work at a preschool and I can't tell you how many times I was grateful that they have equipment to clean "that" up.
ReplyDeleteSo grateful.
