The Party Dish

So, way back when I was at BlogHer in San Francisco and (I can't remember if it was before or after the naked man in the hallway incident) I got an email from Brand About Town asking if I'd be interested in being a Method Maven- where I'd host a party in Chicago to encourage our friends to detox their homes and do some fun eco-friendly activities. My roomates Amy & Arianne also got the email, and we squealed since we love Method -who doesnt?- and found out that the Brand About Town girls were staying in the suite directly across the hall from us with Alpha+Mom.

We walked right on over (I think I was in my pajamas and barefoot) and made ourselves friendly and ate their yummy cupcakes and then headed back over there for breakfast the next morning. During all this it was decided that all three of us should host one big Method party together.


Eco-expert Danny Seo was the master of ceremonies (that night his episode as a guest judge on Bravo's Top Design also aired!) and among a backdrop of amazing Method products, fun craftiness, and delicious finger foods, we partied like we were in our own home. But with no clean up. It was fabulous.

And stay with me here- there just might be a great big Method giveaway at the end.

Danny was quite patient with us gabby guests and led us through a little eco-friendly crafting from his Simply Green Parties book- we made ugly plates fabulous using an old dish from home, a yard sale, or thrift store.

(And see that dish he's holding in the photo above? I have that very plate signed by Danny to give away, too.)

  7. I wasn't familiar with Method til Blogher when we received some in a swag bag at one of the parties.

    We received two products if I'm not mistaken and though I love them both, my favorite is:

    I LOVE the cucumber scented all surface cleaner! It makes me enjoy cleaning a little more and my sinks sparkle!

  19. Went over to see the pics! Looks like Miss Ivy had a fab time!! And her mama looks fantastic!

    I like the Method shower spray--the stuff that you spray down the the shower stall with after a shower to prevent soap and mildew build-up. It's the only product I know of that isn't horribly irritating to the sinuses and doesn't have an extreme harsh chemical smell.

    Can't believe the pace you're keeping! You look great and Ivy's cheeks are scrumptious!

  20. Ooh! I've never had the pleasure of using the Method products, but I think my favorite would be anything in their citrus scent. I LOVE citrus! It always makes everything smell so clean and homey. I'd also like to try the baby products, as I'm giving birth to my first sometime in the next 6 weeks or so.

  33. This Mommy loves Method!! I can't say enough good things about the Good for Wood floor cleaner. First, my hardwoods have it rough...but they always look great thanks to Method...and I LOVE the almond scent! It's *wonderful*! *I sang that part...:)

    I use so many of the method products from laundry to kitchen and bath to the air freshners...but my all time favorite is the daily shower...if you have hard water it is a must and the smell is amazing!

    I have a 6 month old daughter and have been contemplating trying the baby line.

  41. method -sea minerals - foaming hand wash -- I love the smell and the neat shaped bottle. I also have the GO NAKED hand wash which is only for my 5 year old who has really bad eczema and usually cracks in her little hands- the bare naked doesn't burn like lots of other soaps so she'll actually use it!

    I already had decided on using the Method baby line but no baby til April so I have yet to buy... But if I won it :) that would be one less thing I have to think about buying.

  42. Mmmm... Method goodies. Love the stuff, everything I've used and my 2 kids LOVE the peachy bubble bath. I love it because it doesn't cause any problems with their sensitive skin. BUT, I have to say my absolute fav Method item is the Tub and Tile cleaner. Love the way it cleans, the smell and the best part is I don't have to worry about cleaning with my kids in the bathroom or the 36w pregnant that I am. No toxic fumes!

  74. I'm slowly movin all my cleaners over to Method! I love everything I've tried, but my favorite is the Eucalyptus Mint bathroom cleaner. LOVE IT! I also love the hand soaps, lavendar multi-purpose cleaner, and the detergent and fabric softener. The baby detergent smells WONDERFUL!

  75. It is hard to pick just one, since I use and love most of their products. I have to say that Method Baby Laundry Detergent is my fav. My girls have such sensitive skin and since this came out, I was in love! We love the fresh smell so much that it is used on all the clothes in our house!

  85. I like their unscented multi-purpose cleaning spray. We use it to clean out the can we use as a diaper pail between washes for our cloth diapers, and it makes me happy knowing it's safer for Suzi than noxious chemicals.

  130. We use the Method foaming hand soap. It is one of the few foaming soaps that doesn't have triclosan. And I think that little ones get theirs hands more clean with the foaming soap.

  150. I've never tried any Method products but the Le scrub bathroom cleaner in eucalyptus mint looks like it would do the trick. The built in sponge holder on the bottle is also really clever.
