I Am Super Mom

Last night hubby came home and took the baby from my arms. They snuggled up and took a little nap.

And I hopped in the car and went to the Starbucks drive thru.

I was back home within ten minutes, but it was a breather. I was then able to take more time for myself and ate dinner in quiet with no one strapped to me or biting my leg.

I allowed myself to be ok with the fact that I felt like a failure one day, refused to feel guilty for doing so, and then realized that I am super mom. My children tell me so all the time! The proof is hanging on the fridge, scribbled in scrappy spiral notebooks, and sparkling in their eyes.

I am Noah, Carter, Gray, and Ivy's Mom.

And that is super.

  12. Ah lady. If you get a second, read my post today. I don't normally say that, but I just think it's cool. The timing I mean. Not my post :)
My point is that I can so easily feel SO guilty when I fail. Your post was a good reminder to pull myself up and move on. Rather than staying stuck feeling like a loser. Thank you.

  15. What makes you super is the understanding that perfection is an illusion, everyone has FAIL days and when you recognize it and acknowledge it, it makes you a better mom.

That picture is just oozing love, thanks for sharing Ivy.

  16. Well said.

I find it amazing just how much a double tall toffee nut latte (with whip!) can do for me. :)

  20. What a perfect way to put into words all the feelings us Mommies have swirling around :) I always thank God that tomorrow is a new day and with His help I can make today better. A little Starbucks doesn’t hurt either ;)

  28. I love that even a 10-minute breather can be enough to put some wind back in our sails.

I'm glad you got a break. (And that picture is adorable. Teyla looks like that when she sleeps lately, head thrown back and face all relaxed. It's pure contentment.)
